Good Day Mr. Lewis!
I knew today would make me smile…mainly because it usually is a good day when the N train is on time. A phone call from Steve Lewis himself regarding yesterday’s “A Subpar Host For A King”, provided the friendly catch-up that I was hoping for. Steve, I realize you’re new to this technology thing but a WHOLE DAY to get this sorted out?! That’s like a lifetime in Blog hours….But then again, the fact that you are actually capable of posting is no small miracle, (I must admit until your call today, I didn’t doubt that Joonbug was using you as their alias, you being the man who has trouble sending return emails heehee…now the day I see you on Facebook….) So, the point of my post was that NO web domain, NOT EVEN GofG would be fit enough for you to write about clubland on….but since the lucky Joonbuggers were the one that actually got to you first, before me, I may as well just post your response to me on why:
From Steve: “A couple small things…I produced/directed 400 fashion shows but never designed a rag.. maybe that will be my next adventure. Oh and I had a few “real jobs” when I was a younger man.. and how did you know Nicole and I decided to get married…hmmm
When I decided to write my blog I looked around at the various places I could do it. Joonbug was the right fit for me. I believe in people and don’t look at many of them as not this or not that. I try to see what they are doing with their talent and what god has given them and not their shortcomings, which in this day and age can so often be fixed. I guess thats why I was successful in the club world. Instead of poo pooing away the less than fabulous from my doors, my staff was told to educate them on how they could get in next time. Some of those peeps went to high end stores or bumble and bumble, and in a short time were regular customers. Some of those people are running very high profile clubs right now.
Joonbug is staffed with wonderful, vibrant, creative, dedicated, and most important, nice people, who try there best to put out a great product for their readers. I believe I can be an asset to their organization and that my little blog can fill in some of the gaps that you believe are there. Loyalty and honor and love are my 3 most important words and I hope you and your readers will look at Joonbug again now that I’m helping them a tiny bit with some new clothes and a hairdo.
Whether you’re an immigrant from Pakistan or a gal from Omaha, when you arrive in new york you know it can be cruel or wonderful. I’ve always tried to be if nothing else a relief from the troubles and an aid to those who could, with a little help be incredible. I hired a lot of struggling artists actors and other creative types and gave them a position where they could make the rent etc, if I helped you back when you were trying to get from there to where you seem to be now then I ask you to return the favor and look and appreciate where joonbug wants to go and not criticize it because you don’t embrace from where it came. Thanks for all the kind words, it made me blush and I haven’t done that since ‘87….
Okay, okay. I give in, I’m not as Loyal and Kind of a Blogger as Steve is as a real life man. I have this anonymous cloud to protect myself under….but I’m still up for giving the Joonbuggers a chance…as well as Mansion, the club that I have LOATHED from the start…if they’re fit for a king like Steve, they are definitely suitable for a lowly blogger like me.
