What’s The Difference Between New York Nightlife and Boston Nightlife?

What’s The Difference Between New York Nightlife and Boston Nightlife?[image courtesy of the daily swarm]

“Give me bottle service or give me death!” This might be the revamped Patrick Henry quote that Boston nightlife promoters and owners declaim to Boston Liquor Licensing Board Chairman Daniel Pokaski. The Chairman is cracking down on bottle service in Beantown because he believes it “forces alcohol consumption and violates state and city alcohol laws.” Really?! Sources tell GuestofaGuest that clever club owners have side-stepped these laws in the past by always having a waitress “holding the bottle” at vip tables. It will be interesting to see if this will be deemed “form over substance” or not….

I’m not sure if these Mayflower Puritans are on to something. What might New York be without the tacky service pioneered in the late 90’s? Better? Probably. And Paris Hilton may have been one of the last few to have experience bottle service at the hotspot Rumor in February. I know us New Yorkers are used to setting the tone, but maybe we can learn something every once in awhile from our Brahmin brethren.
