How The Hamptons Magazine Knows Where It’s At

Okay, we have to admit we used to judge Hamptons Magazine by its carriers. They were the accessory of the pinkest and greenest and grosgrained denizens of the country club where we worked last summer. Ugh, we thought. Muffy hits the links, or how to fire your horse groomer without upsetting the noble steed. So when opportunity arose to attend the mag’s June Green Issue bash, we were initially skeptical. What made us change our minds?
A) Isabella Rossellini was on the cover. Not only that, she went to the party. We adore Isabella Rossellini. We too, can still see Blue Velvet through our tears. Signora can act, and she is rocking 55 sans Botox and she directed and froliced about in bug costumes for Green Porno, a series of shorts about the rabid mating habits of insects.
B) The party was held at the Four Seasons. Luxe without being over-ornate, plenty of space for middle-life crises to bust out the funky chicken, gorgeous views inside and out.
C) Bethenny Frankel and Ramona SInger from RHOM were there (c’mon people, you watch it too. Ratings don’t lie.) Plus, when we somehow managed to bump into Bethenny, she was really friendly. Aren’t reality stars supposed to be overflowing with undue narcissism?
D) Sweet sponsors. Ketel 1 ice luge+ Sapporo beer+ open bar + Jana Water to wash it all down = hard to go wrong. And it didn’t. Our apologies for prior judgments; we can’t wait for July!
