DJs Graham Funke and StonerokkDJ’s Graham Funke and StoneRokk – two DJ’s who became friends and have owned the music/party/club scene ever since. The boys are based out of LA but do events in New York and Las Vegas among others and StoneRokk AKA Michael Stone was born and raised in Queens. They have worked for Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Christina Aguilera and have a close friend in DJ AM.

While I’ll avoid the “why’s he gotta be a white man?” argument, I can’t help but agree with some other New Yorkers that the city’s traffic “culture” is inextricably linked to our habits and stress-related heart attacks. We previously brought you the subway map overhaul that twas not to be. Now, there’s a new trend afoot that only denizens of our neurotic little city could care about:
the classic stop hand slowly morphing into a trimmer, sleeker version of the little red doughboy palm that taunts over-eager pedestrians. What’s next? Fewer food carts hawking their roasted cashews…I couldn’t commute without their aroma. A small thing, for sure, but just one of the many nuances that make summertime subway platforms bearable.
I predict a sudden influx of minibun carts featuring hot dogs baked into Grands! biscuits. It would be terrifying at first, but the light flaky nature of the prefabricated biscuit dough would oddly coincide nicely with the dirty water doggy, forcing us to love it until it became such a common thing that we’d see everyone remark on how we hate it.
For now, though, I will welcome this invasion of the Pillsbury phenomena!
