Dennis Dubas, Susan Jacobs, Guy LawrenceRachel Zalis and Elana Nathanlinda-zagaria-and-william-blasingham

Everyone seems to have a bit more fun with their ensembles in the summer time. PMC has been full of bright prints and classic accessories lately. Here are my top pics from Patrick McMullan for today:

  1. Dennis Dubas, Susan Jacobs, and Guy Lawrence: At The Hampton Designer Showhouse, located at 59 Farm Court in Sagaponack.  The ‘ol patchwork suits and bow ties may be a bit much for some, but what are clichés for if no one actually completes them in their entirety?  These guys are having fun being preppie hamptonites.
  2. Rachel Zalis and Elana Nathan: At Diamonds and Denim this Saturday at the home of Rita Schrager in Southampton.  The invite said “Dress to Impress” and it was a denim themed party god damnit!  Rachel was one of the minorities that actually adhered to the dress code in full, and I give her props for that.  One of my biggest pet peeves is when people don’t dress the themes.
  3. Mrs. Linda Zagaria (in vintage Chanel) and Mr. William Blasingham: At the Merchant’s House Museum’s annual fundraiser on the roof of the Central Park Arsenal.  Vintage Chanel and dapper hats, these two came straight out of a Gatsby page and I love it.

Gay Pride Parade NYC 2008As anyone who has had the misfortune of seeing The Happening knows, long walks through parks are no longer safe. So why not stroll through a graveyard? Patriot Tours invites you to go on one of their walking tours of two of the city’s most historic graveyards, those of St. Paul’s and Trinity Church, conveniently located in the Financial District.

N Harlem

Click HERE for more photos of this event by Gradient’s Matt Fried.

In case you haven’t caught on, Harlem is in fashion this season. From the Home Base project, to Leroy Neiman’s Art Center opening, to the creme de la creme of the “Supper Club” hosting dinners, everyone seems to be heading north. Which is why, when we heard that the trend setters over at Unruly Heir were hosting at party up at N Harlem, we weren’t surprised.

On Thursday, June 26th, SVEDKA Vodka hosted a special shopping event and cocktail party for the Unruly Heir Spring/Summer 2008 collection“Port Authority to Palm Beach” at N Harlem, with a special live performance by Jazz R&B recording artist Jesse Boykins III.

yankee stadiumUnless both New York teams make it to the World Series – the Yankees saw their last time playing in Shea Stadium last night as they wrapped up the weekend Subway Series. Beginning with a double-header on Friday, the day-game being played in the Bronx before heading over to Flushing for the night game, the Yankees faced an insufferable loss that they overturned hours later.

Marquee Nightclub New York

A tipster writes:

Marquee got shut down by the cops just now. (9:11PM)

We are in the process of getting more details, but for those Hamptons-bound people this shouldn’t put too much of a dent on the weekend. Developing…

In the meantime you can reminisce with previous posts we’ve done on Marquee’s famed doorman, Wass Stevens.

New York City Ballet
[Photo via New York City Ballet]

Last night I had the pleasure of enjoying a three piece performance by one of the leading dance companies in the world. Gratis due to my dear friend Abi Stafford, a principal dancer with the company (thanks Abi)! One question people always ask me (having been trained at Joffrey Ballet School, (and have had the pleasure of performing with Abi and in Billy Joel’s broadway musical “Movin’ Out“), is “do you prefer American Ballet Theatre or New York City Ballet?” Having dear friends at both, I will never disclose my opinion. Although with enough cocktails in a dancer-free environment….
