Last Saturday, Aug. 23, we headed to Stone Meadow Farm in East Hampton (the place where Mariah Carey recently got married) to celebrate the 125th birthday of the American Red Cross. On the way in, I was greeted by Rob Rich, and so, we finally meet in person! I also walked in at the same time as my friend Heinz Haas, the tennis pro/teacher who has some BIG things coming up. Russell Simmons, was there, (his jewelry line was one of the evening’s sponsors) as was George Gurley who was interviewing guests on thier favorite moments of the summer. Russell said it was the summer of:
"Barack Obama, as well as yoga, the environment, PETA, the Humane Society and fund-raisers (his July 19 Art for Life event raised $1.7 million)." [The Observer]

I have a real treat for you guys today. From the place that inspired the whole concept of the "Best $2k" posts: Dune. We have had yet to have photos for you inside Dune, but today is the day where that ends as David X Prutting was there with his G9 last Saturday night. And it was obviously the place to be if you were out. Glancing through the album, the people I recognize include: Cutest couple ever alive, Rich Thomas and Tamie Peters Thomas, Olivia Cuervo, Stephanie Wei, Nick Hunt, Liam McMullan, and the Koch brothers, among many other beautiful people. Kevin Connolly was also there both nights last weekend! Labor Day weekend is sure to be a shitshow out east....stay tuned for our summer recap on all things Hamptons nightlife over at hamptons.guestofaguest.com!

A grade A gentleman like Luigi Tadini deserves a super special birthday celebration. Though he's nowhere close to being a Leo (he's actually an Aries), we all missed his big 25th milestone in the Spring. Sunday night's "un-birthday" party at The Surf Lodge in Montauk more than made up for it. Besides the amazing menu courtesy of Sam Talbot, the sweet voice of Bebel Gilberto, and the picture perfect sunlight, a dozen of his closest friends were there to help him toast his Quarterlife.

J.Crew chief executive Millard Drexler's newest personal addition to his real estate collection at 120 Beach Lane was reportedly bought in Wainscott for $17 million dollars. The six-bedroom, four-bathroom shingle-style house is between the Atlantic Ocean and Wainscott Pond on a three-acre lot. Drexler also owns houses in Montauk and Bridgehampton. The agent involved in all three properties was Paul Brennan of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Bridgehampton. He co-brokered Montauk with Linda Stein, who was murdered last year at her Manhattan apartment. [Real LI]

Yesterday, it was my turn to meet the Page Six Magazine team for a photo shoot at the ever popular Angels & Kings. Our "tribe" consisted of Liam McMullan, Shaggy, Myself, and...Izzy Gold, (who when asked just what he was trying to do told me "I just want to give people something to believe in." Who can argue with that?) The highlight of the day was getting my hair and makeup done. I always marvel at the hair and makeup artists, each one perfecting his/her craft along the way.

I chatted it up with THE Rob Rich at Surf Lodge in Montauk this past Sunday night and THIS photo came up in conversation. I was delighted (and a little bit disgusted) when I saw it for myself. Sometimes getting caught by Rob Rich's camera's is a good thing, and sometimes it's not. I think we can all agree this falls in the latter camp.

A private house in Southampton hosted Georgi's Annual Southampton Social on Saturday. This was one of the most attractive bunches we have seen all summer. Among the Hamptons crowd celebrating were Chris George, Eliza Howard, Emily Voss, Julia Cole, Irene Yankavskaya, Nikki Breedlove, Whitney Taylor, and Lauren Borman.

This Saturday was the closing day at those beloved Polo fields in Bridgehampton. What will we do without all of the weekly photos coming from those sartorially-correct crowds out east? Last weekends Polo event was sponsored by Hamptons Magazine and the HRS Princess foundation with OnDa Ground music's special live performance of the song “If Not For Grace” for charity. Sixty percent of the proceeds from the sales of the song online benefit various children's charities including, children international, Darfur now and others.

In the ever populating Hamptons, it is not always easy to stay afloat during the fast paced summer months. But for many of us it is not just the summer fun that we live here for. More important is the beauty of the land that we grew up in, its tranquility, and our friends — both ordinary and high profile folks alike.
Preserve is a open-ended documentary project started this summer photographing local youths of the Hamptons in their natural environments. From the Native American Reservation in Southampton to the back parking lots of Sag Harbor, the teens of the Hamptons are seen as they are - complex, diverse teens existing in a dual environment of opulent excess and working-class strife.
