Abigail Lorick gave her first interview to us back in October. She, coincidentally, was our first as well:

We can smell a good thing from miles away, and lately, we’ve been sniffing out newcomer designer Abigail Lorick. Former Ford model and designer for T.S. Dixin, this southern belle is (mark our words) “the next big thing”.

The NEXT BIG THING is here. Since that interview, Abigail’s line has grown from a couple of pieces to a well respected line. She is one of the hottest new designers this fall, both in real life, and on Television. Abigail’s line is the “it” line on the “it” TV show Gossip Girl. Her first fashion show was a hit. The one on September 4th proves to be even bigger as the cast from the show is set to attend. Abigail breaks the mold as far as “hot fashion designers” go. She is genuine, pleasant and graceful; always embodying a true “Lorick Lady‘.

I have a real treat for you guys today.  From the place that inspired the whole concept of the “Best $2k” posts: Dune.  We have had yet to have photos for you inside Dune, but today is the day where that ends as David X Prutting was there with his G9 last Saturday night.  And it was obviously the place to be if you were out.  Glancing through the album, the people I recognize include: Cutest couple ever alive, Rich Thomas and Tamie Peters Thomas, Olivia Cuervo, Stephanie Wei, Nick Hunt, Liam McMullan, and the Koch brothers, among many other beautiful people.  Kevin Connolly was also there both nights last weekend! On discussing the upcoming fall fashion week last night I overheard:

“Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen are the only shows to be concerned about.”

Despite whether you agree or disagree with this statement, there’s no denying that Zac Posen has made waves through the fashion world in the past years. You know you’ve made it to the tops when you have one of the fashionable Olsen’s interning for you.  Zac is as suave as he is sleek.  He never looks undone and has made some of our city’s most fashionable socialite’s dazzle.

Fashion expert and industry insider (and Project Runway judge) Nina Garcia was at Saks Fifth Avenue yesterday to launch her new book “THE ONE HUNDRED: A GUIDE TO THE PIECES EVERY STYLISH WOMAN MUST OWN.” Following on the success of her Little Black Book of Style, the style maven”s new tome gives more great tips and tricks along with cleverly illustrated photos by Ruben Toledo. Among the attendees were former Runway contestant Laura Bennett and Gilt Groupe VP Christian Leone.

A grade A gentleman like Luigi Tadini deserves a super special birthday celebration. Though he’s nowhere close to being a Leo (he’s actually an Aries), we all missed his big 25th milestone in the Spring. Sunday night’s “un-birthday” party at The Surf Lodge in Montauk more than made up for it. Besides the amazing menu courtesy of Sam Talbot, the sweet voice of Bebel Gilberto, and the picture perfect sunlight, a dozen of his closest friends were there to help him toast his Quarterlife.

Ok, at least we try. You’d be amazed what you can do with a couple of Heineken keg cans, a few bottles of cheap red wine, hotdogs, and corn. Our rooftop beerbeque last night had quite a cast of characters from bankers, gropers, bloggers, scenesters and everything in between. Well we could continue to write about it, but pictures are probably the easiest way to understand the shenanigans…
