Last night found us at The Winter Antiques at The Armory. Last night was the official young collector’s night and, along with the antiques show featured an amazing silent auction (more on that later). I was on the committee, along with Kipton Cronkite, William Gilbane III, Emily Israel, Elizabeth Meigher, Hudson Morgan, Tatiana Perkin, & Gillian Hearst. The proceeds went to the East Side Settlement House.

My date for the evening was the always beautiful and glamorous Grace Gomez-Brea. We checked out the pieces we had already seen and revisited some favorites.

We all know and love Jeff Koons’ slick balloon animal-esque sculptures that graced the Met’s rooftop. Well, last night, The National Arts Club, they decided to present Koons with a gold medal of honor at a dinner party in his honor. Also, several of the guests decided to don creative eye-wear in his honor. Koons, who recently made an apperance in “Milk”, has contributed to the art world for quite some time, often causing an uproar (artistically, personally).

You can easily nourish his barrel-chested body by sending in tips. Have something Stanley should know? Share with him by emailing tips@guestofaguest.com, and give a dog a bone. Ruff!

In the past few days, it has come to the nation’s attention that the Obama family’s former personal chef, Sam Kass, will be leaving the Midwest to join them in the White House. The NYTimes gave a rundown of Kass’ credentials, such as his work at the Chicago restaurant Avec, though what has been sorely neglected in all of this coverage, is a HELL YEA to the fact that Sam Kass is a TOTAL BABE.

While the brave men and women of our armed forces are fighting to save our high seas from buccaneering bands of roving pirates, philanthropists are focusing their attention on other marine concerns.  La Mer skin care, along with fashion writer Bettina Zilkha, hosted a party at a private New York residence to celebrate Oceana, the world’s largest environmental organization focused entirely on ocean preservation.

We stopped by the much-publicized and hotly-anticipated new restaurant Scuderia to catch up with the New York restaurant world’s latest glamour girl, Leyla Marchetto and see her new digs at 10 Downing Street just a few weeks before the scheduled opening date.

The finishing accents all have that personal touch–the four owners and investors are bringing in art and decor from their own collection and programming the music into the state-of-the-art sound system, as well as providing blackboard paint and chalk in the bathrooms for you to vandalize with your terrible Italian or (no doubt) brilliant English witticisms.
