Today is the official last day of work for many of our friends over at Page Six Magazine.  And, with that, I would like to toast their departures with a quote my sister sent me once when I was feeling pretty low:

"Writing is the only profession where no one considers you ridiculous if you earn no money." - Jules Renard

Though we will miss your witty contributions at Page Six mag, we are looking forward to the great things you will no doubt be doing, especially you Kelly and Gregory!

This weather has got us thinking of warmer times spent out east.  Specifically, at one of our favorite hot spots of the summer: Surf Lodge.  Here's an update on the latest rumblings...apparently certain townies are still in a tizzy over the place, saying the building permit for the space was a mistake, yadda yadda yadda.  They will vote on March 2 to at least get rid of the stores there which, as Richard Kahn points out: "is like a mosquito on the back of an elephant." [Via EH Star] That's right, Surf Lodge is NOT going away, so stop whining.  We can't wait!

Saturday night Clive Davis's Pre-Grammy Gala Salute to Industry Icons at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills went off without a hitch. High profilers at the event included Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, Jamie Fox, Rod Stewart, The Jonas Brothers, and Carrie Underwood. Rising Brit pop star Leona Lewis gave her first blow out U.S. performance at the event. But even she couldn't keep up with the unstoppable Whitney Houston who also took the stage proving she is still music royalty.

Fanboys, a comedy-drama about four Star Wars fans who venture to Skywalker Ranch to catch the Phantom Menace before its' release, was screened in Beverly Hills at the Clarity Screening Room on Tuesday night. The film which has spent the majority of its' time thus far in the editing room being cut and re-shot is finally being released in its' original form. Now lightsaber fanatics across the country can all weep tears of joy while they wait in line to see a Star Wars movie about...waiting in line to see a Star Wars movie.

When Will.i.am isn't busy recording new music, commentating for CNN, or working on his social/political networking site, he's putting together innovative projects to kick start this week's Grammys. The socially conscious hip-hopper presented a merge of visual and musical artists for Worlds on Fire Monday night at the Pacific Electric Lofts in Los Angeles. The exhibition, put together by Will.i.am., is a collection of portraits of 2009 Grammy nominated musicians by various artists including Shepard Fairey, Lori Earley, Jeremy Lipking, Henry Lewis, and Natalia Fabia
