About Guest of a Guest

Welcome to this side of paradise, otherwise known as New York City. Getting past the “No Vacancy” sign outside isn’t always easy, but that’s where we come in. So come along for the ride and be the Guest of a Guest as we bring you the people, places, and parties of NYC; from the paved streets of Uptown, to the cobblestone roads of Downtown and everywhere in between.

Mellissa Seecharan: Born under the Caribbean sun and raised in NYC’s forgotten borough, Mellissa immersed herself in writing and the arts, which eventually led to one too many Master’s degrees. In the meantime, she works as a freelance journalist/editor and has a mean addiction to caramel lattes and U2.

Chiara Atik: A playwright and blogger from San Diego, California, and a graduate of NYU’s Department of Dramatic Writing. Chiara prides herself on being able to secretly text message without ever taking her phone out of her pocket or breaking eye contact. She is also the (self-proclaimed) world’s leading expert on The Sound Of Music.

Carolina Mesarina: NYC is the place where Carolina has stayed the longest (5 years!), due to international moving sprees she endured as a child. At least now she speaks Spanish, French, German and Swiss German and English (*her own version). Acting, art-related ventures, babysitting/teaching and helping at Guest of a Guest is how she currently spends most of her time.
Sarah Crow: Sarah was born and raised in Manhattan, but moved to Brooklyn as a youthful act of rebellion before realizing that everyone else had done it as well. Once, as an exercise in literalism, she took an internship at Seventeen at the age of seventeen. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Bennington College in Vermont and is currently a Master’s candidate in publishing at NYU. Her interests are limited to Bret Michaels.

Perrine Meistrell: Perrine is a graduate of Princeton and and NYU Law who is currently pursuing her love of writing and interest in media at GofG. A Native New Yorker, she is still having fun and finding new adventures in “the city”.

Evan Mulvihill: Evan has lived most of his life on Staten Island, but once in a while he makes trips to the exotic island of Manhattan to write things for magazines and blogs. He also made a few trips to upstate New York to earn a “college degree,” which he was told would come in handy at some point in his adult life. In his spare time, he enjoys constructing elaborate models of foreign capitals using items found in the Staten Island Landfill.
Chrissy Coolidge: Born into a family with a fervent passion for travel and adventure, Christine grew up in Northern California. Her parents - a pilot and an artist - both shared a strong love of the ocean, and as a result much of her childhood was spent on the water. Christine is happily addicted to social media tools, and all things nautical and aeronautical. Her pre-GofG resume includes six years of media planning, account strategy and project management with McCann Erickson, Ogilvy & Mather and most recently, a VC Hospitality Group.

Ariel Moses: “A” is a bubbly brunette who’s somewhat of a devil-wearing-Prada in the making; but for now, spends her days in leggings working for a PR firm and throwing events all over Manhattan and the Hamptons. A graduate of Horace Mann and Barnard College, “A” is known for slowly developing narcolepsy, a terrible sense of direction, nightlife, philanthropy, writing, and of course- always clutching her Blackberry.

JT White: With a Southern belle mother and a Manhattan-ite father, JT has see it all. Growing up in “East Egg” going to parties at the Gatsby’s house (the real-life one) and spending summers running around the Hamptons have prep’d him for anything and everything he’s seen on the job.
Jamie Chiu: Jamie is a freelance photographer in NYC. Graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design (aka: SCAD), she decided to live in Williamsburg where might inspire her as an artist… Photographing any scene in Big Apple.

Seana Cavanagh: Picked up an old film camera at age 17 and never put it down. Since then Seana explores the medium of photography and film with a curious eye from the street, to the studio, to the New York City nightlife. Her accomplishments include producing two award winning short films, displaying her work in Chelsea gallery group shows, publishing photographs in countless magazines and blogs, and photographing the New York fashion runway. Say cheese!
Azikiwe Mohammed: Attended Bard College where he studied photography under the tutelege of Larry Fink, Stephen Shore and An-My Le’. Since graduation he has been shooting his way thru the city while working on a photo essay entitled Pictures My Dad Took. A freelance printer, digital and film shooter, Azikiwe currently works at the Camera Club of New York and is represented by Gallery Sensei.
