Breaking: Calvin Klein Tones It Down, Opts For Half Naked Woman On Billboard Over Threesome

[As we speak, a less-risque Houston Street Calvin Klein billboard is replacing last week's racy, orgy-esque debut. Photo by Katie Baker]

Breaking: The billboard that had us all talking will shortly come down, amidst uproar over its scandalous nature. More than a couple heads turned when Calvin Klein displayed a barely pubescent, topless girl in various stages of hook up with more than one gorgeous but no doubt ill-intentioned man, for all of Houston and Lafayette in Soho to see (as well as the billboard bystander, a third hunk lying on the floor next to the couch canoodling, his pants undone). Passersby worried,

"They always have ads that are pushing the envelope, but this one is the worst I've seen since I've been here. My biggest concern is that it gives teens the wrong idea." [via]

Well, now everyone can settle down a bit. This morning the stage one, second-to-third-base sex-capade came down, making way for a red bikini-clad babe, strolling against a washed out beach backdrop. So instead of potentially underage group sex (we hope they were at least planning on using protection!), the ad's now poised to inspire body consciousness among masses of teenage women. Oh well!

[The old ad. Is it hot in here?]

boring boring boring united states of puritanical moralia. 'what will the children think?' why write: "more than one gorgeous but no doubt ill-intentioned man"? what is ill-intentioned about some necking and more??? srsly, it's absolutely exhausting to continuously be reminded of how fragile the social fabric is when it comes to sexuality (though, i agree, the stylist might have considered a box of condoms which would have likely spared the ad its demise).

Rod - I'm interested in your process - do you have children?

Would you want your son, daughter, wife, or husband in that ad?

so you can have miley cyrus...who looks like an old hooker...you can have bratz...who look like old hookers...in the cheap disguise of children's entertainment, but you can't have a (predictable) clothing ad showing the result of this supersaturation of the salacious (with, I think, one dude cloned three times -check the face- though it's hard to tell)

if you're a parent, and you're pissed about this pretty dull ad? you're too late.

I wonder if all the upset parents talk to their children about safe sex, and monitor their children's text (sext?) messages, as well as what they watch on TV? And, I wish my husband was in this add.

What a crock!

It's funny how the guys are the ones with the "ill intent" and the girl is just there...nymph-like, innocent, and completely morally removed from the situation.

according to this author, is she even there?

Once again, sex sells and gets attention. I'm sure CK knew that this ad was over the top but they put it up anyway and got alot of attention. I am disgusted with seeing half-naked women (and men) supp0sedly advertising clothing and this ad in particular was pornographic. If you want to watch this sort of thing then do it in the privacy of your home but don't poison the minds of our young people anymore than they already have been. Sex is a gift - and our young people have gotten the message that it's okay to give their bodies to one or more people just for "fun" - with no consequences....we are creating a whole generation of adults who will find themselves incapable of fidelity in marriage and confused about their own sexual orientation. God have mercy on us!
