Books Make Good Bedfellows

Does anyone else have a habit of starting numerous books at once?  I have a serious problem. What I’m currently reading:

• Asian Dining Rules, by Steven A. Shaw:  Because I ALWAYS play it safe at Japanese, Chinese, Indian, etc restaurants and I’m getting sick of California Rolls and Pad Thai.  This life long New Yorker is teaching me how to be an “insider”.
• The Tao of Physics, by Fritjof Capra: To keep me spiritual.  I started this in March.  Taking me awhile to get into.
• The Post Birthday World, by Lionel Shriver: I am halfway through and thinking about calling it quits.  It’s hard reading about a woman having her mid life crisis when I’m 25.  My mom would love.
• When You Are Engulfed In Flames, by David Sedaris: I’m almost done and has only taken me a couple nights. I can’t put this book down. David is one of my favorite writers.  I have read every book of his, and always look forward to attending his readings.  He makes the mundane seem hilarious and poignant, and that should be celebrated indeed.
• Ava Gardner biography, “Love Is Nothing”, by Lee Server: Started mid summer, still have a fourth to go, what a life this lady lived!
• Your Roots Are Showing, Elise Chidley: Just starting this one…because I don’t have enough books already and I have serious attention span disorder.
• The Echo Maker, Richard Powers: Sitting waiting to be dived into..I’m not really even sure what it’s about but it’s set against the Platte River of my home state (Nebraska).  I will NOT start it until I’m done with at least 2 of the above.
