Fame Costume Contest at Williamsburg’s Summerscreen

n Wednesday, August 5th, Summerscreen, The L Magazine’s series of outdoor films, will screen Fame for an audience of thousands in McCarren Park. To honor the film on the eve of its upcoming remake, The L invites fans to dress in the style of the original cast: which means legwarmers, unitards, sweat bands, glitter, neons, and…you get the idea. The person who arrives with the best costume will win a $100 gift certificate to the Bubble Lounge in Manhattan and, of course, a moment of fame at Summerscreen. Summerscreen: Fame Wednesday, August 5th Doors at 6pm; film starts at dusk McCarren Park Ballfields, Bedford Ave at North 12 St, Williamsburg Happy Hour from 6-8pm with drink specials and live music from Bottle Up & Go and The Nouvellas Food and beverages available from Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, San Loco, Two Boots, DUB Pies, Sixpoint Craft Ales, & Wine Australia.
