How do internet filmmakers separate themselves from the pack? Seriously, though. In an age where a 15-year old ADHD kid's iMovie tribute to Justin Bieber could potentially get more YouTube hits than Errol Morris, what's the secret to showcasing great new original content? Well, if you're multimedia artist Matt Smiley and you're associated with Thrash Lab, the self-described "ultimate destination for rich visuals, narrative entertainment and high end cultural content," you make a top secret documentary piece about so-hot-right-now band Foster The People and local graffiti mascot Mr. Brainwash and screen it at the brand-new AV Nightclub in Hollywood. Take that, Beliebers. More»

Wow, so it's been a while since we all had an awards show, right? That's just about the only explanation I can muster for the general positivity surrounding the Billboard Music Awards, which folks were pretty jazzed on last night despite the mediocre lineup, meandering pace, and schizophrenic attempt to stay positive despite a raft of tributes to recently deceased musical icons. Still, the evening wasn't without its charms, to say nothing of the moments so forehead-smacking tone-deaf that they also warrant acknowledgement. Let's take a good look at both! More»

It must be hard to be Wiz Khalifa. Don't get me wrong, I'd trade places (if not wives) with you in a heartbeat, but people often make the mistake of confusing a good life with an easy life. Not me, Wiz. I realize how hard it is to grind out show after show over a long, hot summer, how nervous you must be having to share a stage every night with Snoop Dogg, the original and greatest weed rapper of all time, and what courage it takes to roll up blunt after blunt, even knowing that 5-0 is eternally waiting to harsh your buzz. That's why I salute you, Wiz, for putting aside your latest legal hassle, hitting the stage in West Palm Beach last night alongside Tha Doggfather, and putting on a hell of a show at Sunfest 2012. If these photos are any indication, you haven't missed a step. More»

We know we haven't always been all that nice to Coldplay in the past. They're a big, broad band that always goes for the emotional kill shot, and we'll absolutely concede that, at times, we've found ourselves annoyed with them. But we also believe that these things are largely a matter of context, and so after they played their second of three shows at the Hollywood Bowl last night, a dazzling, special effects laden tour de force that left pretty much every attendee breathless, we'll happily admit that Coldplay was pretty much born to rock the Bowl in a way that few bands can these days. We suspect that after you see these choice Instagrams from last night's show, you'll agree. More»

In his meteoric rise to fame over the last four years, 21-year-old Odd Future frontman Tyler The Creator has made a habit of doing or saying pretty much whatever borderline-insane shit pops into his head, from bum-rushing the stage and getting choke slammed at a Gucci Mane show to responding to Canadian indie rockers Tegan & Sara's thoughtful, well-developed criticism of his lyrical content with a single tweet. Whether or not you approve of his particular brand of lunacy, he's bigger than ever, as evidenced by this Cobrasnake gallery of his Odd Future collective's headlining gig at the Paid Dues Festival this weekend in San Bernardino. Over 15,000 people shut down Times Square to see native New Yorker Nicki Minaj sing in celebration of the launch of Nokia's latest phone, the Lumia 900. Nicki performed a medley of tracks from her new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, as well as her new single “Starships” with a remix by DJ Doorly. Check out photos of the performance after the jump! More»

Dish, girl. What's your favorite gay bar? That's the question we asked the stars at the GLAAD Media Awards and last weekend's Night of a Thousand Gowns- two of New York's most fabulous fundraisers for the LGBT community. Carson Kressley, Lisa Lampanelli, Richie Rich, Michael Musto, Amanda Lepore, Alex McCord, Smash's Megan Hilty, a Real Housewife of Vancouver, and more shared their favorite place to grab a drink with the gays in New York. Summer Music Festival season is out of the gates and running, and we here at GofG are putting in our bid to be your go-to all summer long. We've given you a comprehensive guide to help you choose your festival (spoiler alert: if you have more than 12 teeth, it's not The Gathering Of The Juggalos), and we've even given the ladies a detailed Coachella style guide. That's a lot of positive guidance, but it's just as important to know what to avoid when laying out your wardrobe. So here, with the help of these Cobrasnake photos, is our list of thoughts on what not to wear. More»

If you're an American (unless your name is Ed Begley, Jr.), chances are you're still a little skeptical about the electric car. I get that. We were raised to admire gigantic, powerful, smoke-belching machines, which explains why my otherwise eminently reasonable father drove a Suburban larger than my bedroom for most of my childhood. But in Europe, where streets are smaller and their regular gas prices would make Newt Gingrich poop his pants, they've already embraced the electric car as a clean, economical and practical way to navigate a city. All of which brings us to yesterday's Paris launch party at L'Atelier Renault for the Renault Twizy, featuring new brand ambassadors David Guetta and Cathy Guetta. More»

There was a time where Leonardo Dicaprio, Lukas Haas, Kevin Connolly and Tobey Maguire getting together meant trouble. After all, these four have been running together since they were mid-90's teen heartthrobs, which means they have about 20 years of skirt-chasing, illegal-poker-ringing, and sneaking-Kevin-Connolly-onto-full-sized-roller-coasters under their belt. But they're a lot older and a bit wiser now, and while they'd never stop hanging out, their pursuits now involve things like investing in tech start-ups like smartphone social media app Mobli 2.0, which held its launch party on Saturday at South By Southwest. A debaucherous, movie-style college Spring Break is a lot like going to In-N-Out alone: on the one hand, it's a completely shameful activity that will invariably produce regret and self-loathing down the line, but it sure is satisfying at the time. So in order to give these photos of "30 Rock" star Katrina Bowden promoting the Wii game "Just Dance 3" in Panama City for Maxim Magazine (yes, you read that correctly) their proper due, I will attempt to capture the carefree spirit of the University of Central Florida fratboys that were there, inevitably having the times of their lives before they move on to take over their parents' roofing businesses. You ready, brahhh? More»
