And thus Emily “The Eldridge” Brill rejoins the blog world with a post titled “Where have all the blankets gone?” Well it’s not a life changing post, but we nonetheless are glad to have her back.  We are even going to overlook the bad grammar: “I’m know the chances are 50/50″ because it’s clear she actually did her research in this post, offering up alternatives to her beloved Asprey blankets that she can not seem to locate for the life of her.  Can someone please help Emily find her lost blankie?

Okay we want everyone to relax.  We will get to the bottom of this, we will figure out where Emily is, and life WILL go on.  In the meantime, we realize how scared and upset you are.  Emily was like an addiction for a lot of people, and, like any good addiction, she will take awhile to get over.  We would like to make it a little easier today for you.  Go here to see Emily’s archives of her very beginning posts, and click below to see the second to last post Emily did, which we found cached on Google (BRILLIANT!)  We also have her Facebook page (a screen shot, after the jump) with a comment she made just yesterday proving that she does still exist, at least in real life!

At first we thought it was a fluke, a simple technical issue like we had patiently sat through so many times before.  As the weekend progressed however, the reality started to sink in.  Essentially Emily is essentially GONE.  Dunzo. OVER. We are all struggling to come up with answers.  Did her parents really pull the plug? Is she still in Manhattan?  etc.  We didn’t even get to host a farewell party.  Joking aside, we all want you back Emily (including The Eldridge).  Even Hamilton Nolan is professing his love for you.  We hope you are okay. Our favorite 5th Avenue misfit’s blog is having a bit of a fit of its own lately.  Emily Brill’s blog is down and seems to be having some technical difficulties. A tipster suggested it might be related to some “heated comments today and yesterday.”  We can neither confirm or deny that at the moment.

We have sent an email out to Emily asking for clarification. We’ll keep you updated on all the essentials as they unfold…

Update: Tipsters indicate that Brill’s parents may have pulled the plug.  We are working to confirm this.  Will continue to post updates as they materialize.

There is a new brawl going on over at Essentially Emily.  Apparently, after Emily Brill put up a pointless post about someone having the date wrong for the “IT” fashion show (“when exactly is Wednesday, October 16 2008?” she asks), enough drama ensued that I am finally just going to post it so I can stop hearing about it from people.

First the fabulous Gregory Littley was like “How DARE she!” yesterday. He made the invitations and sent out the newer one immediately after upon realizing his mistake (I can relate to Gregory… I can”t tell you how many times I have screwed up an invitation).

Emily Brill essentially threw a party last night to watch the vice presidential debate.  After Gawker outed her invite yesterday, she was forced to move locations (to Dorrian’s).  Check out what Emily has to say to GofG’s Chris Confessore about Palin, her website, and what she really thinks about the Eldridge.

Its been a tough week on Wall Street, weather-wise, and Bill-wise.  But you won’t catch any undercurrents of negativity from Emily Brill.  “Hey New Yorkers, TGIF! Let’s Rock!” and with these famous blogging words, Emily starts her Friday, well on her way to finishing off what was an illustrious week for her on The Internets.

While her sister is no doubt reading books for those Yale Graduate School exams in the library, Emily is going to another book repository, The Eldridge.  Its an odd book repository in that you can’t actually read any books, and sometimes you have to wait outside for 40 minutes in order to gain entrance.  But to each her own.  More»

Emily Brill’s fortunes just won’t improve.  Last night a tipster reports that Emily Brill ventured down to the Rose Bar with Devorah Rose’s BFF Briana Swanson.  Tipster reports:

“Looks like Emily Brill decided to get her feet wet in the shallow end of the pool by heading down to Gramercy and stopping by Rose Bar.  No doubt she won’t cross 14th street into the deep end.  Moreover, she and Briana got kicked from their table 1/2 way through the night.  Not the most encouraging of circumstances to make her want to venture back downtown to the Eldridge…lol”
