TimeOut NY has a feature this week titled "They Need a Drink" showcasing some of the city's most recent laid of workers and where their favorite hangouts are to drink away their job woes. We got a kick out of the ex Radar Team. Adam Raymond, Paige Ferrari, and our favorite, Neel Shah seem to chose Marshall Stack to twitter their days away (this is also a favorite spot of Lockhart Steele from Curbed). The lazy drinking days were short lived by Neel, who has just gotten picked up by Page Six. Thankfully, it looks like he has his new phone up and running too.

Last Thursday, Citrine hosted the launch for the second issue of Gradient Magazine. The event was presented by Inocente Tequila and the hosts included Bettina Prentice, Kipton Cronkite, Anastasia Rogers, and the artist Andres Serrano, fresh off his new and much talked about exhibition. At the heart of the celebration was the new Gradient Magazine, which celebrates innovations and innovators throughout the fashion, art, design, and music worlds. The publication is the brainchild of Matt Fried, Barris Vinogradov and Alan Vinogradov.

Last week, editor in chief Kim Hastreiter along with our other friends from Paper Magazine, headed to the west coast for their 4th year in a row to "tap into the city's pop-art scene, set up a 24-hour department store and party through Sunday. The fruits of their ruckus will make up Paper's February issue." [LA Times] Their ruckus ended last night with a Sunday soirée they named "The Last Supper" hosted by Bijou Pillips and Danny Masterson at "Shin" a modern Korean restaurant in Hollywood co-owned by Steve Aoki, Gerard Butler, Julian Casablancas, Chris Masterson, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon and Mark Ronson.

After we got one of Lavo's engraved glass slabs in August, we thought we had seen a new high-water mark for invitations. Now, Gradient Magazine has done them one better. For tomorrow's launch of Frequency 2 of the magazine, Matt Fried, Alan Vinogradov, and Barris Vinogradov sent out the invites pictured above. Hand-made, no two alike, these little pieces of art were put together by the Gradient team with inspiration from artist Gary Wenc who, is featured in this issue's Gallarei along side Emmitt Shine, Matt Siren, and Lucien Dulfan. We look forward to seeing what Gradient has put up their sleeve, as they host tomorrow night along with co-hosts Andres Serrano, Kipton Cronkite, Bettina Prentice, and Anastasia Rogers.

Last night saw the last gasp (or last middle finger) of Radar 3.0, as the recently-folded magazine bravely carried on with its previously planned Halloween party-turned media wake. The mag's latest/last cover model, Shannen Doherty, joined Maer Roshan, Jeb Reed, Neel Shah and the rest of the Radar family as they raged against the dying of the light until the wee hours of the morning. Old and new media showed up to pay their respects, many in Gawker's suggested costume of "recently laid-off writer/bloggers."

Its time to start buying those equities again! Forget the Oracle of Omaha, we've got Lockhart Steele! Lock appears to be the media man with the crystal ball as of late. His two-part prediction regarding the fall of Radar Magazine is coming to fruition. 1) Radar Magazine WILL fold, and 2) When it folds it WILL mark the bottom of the economy. Now Gawker has confirmed it.
"You will know when we have hit the bottom of this financial crisis the very day when Radar Magazine goes out of business. And you can quote me on that!"
Yes it's true Radar Magazine was some Risky Business. Especially in this world where Print Media is falling like flies. But please don't confuse our exuberance with Schadenfreude! Sometimes its just fun when you're right.

Radar Magazine held its October issue release party on Wednesday night at Catch 22, with cover star Shannon Doherty! Actually, without her (she couldn't make it, don't know why), but everyone still had tons of fun! Guests like Michael Musto, photographer Ellen von Unwerth, and RADAR EIC Maer Roshan enjoyed the party, but we did miss Brenda!

Happy 40th Birthday New York Magazine! It's always fun to reminisce over old magazine covers, remembering the day we were reading them as current news, not memories of our city's past. Below some more of our favorite covers from over the years:
Ok, time for a little shameless self-promotion. As GofG readers know, in addition to my nightlife exploits, I also have a day gig. I own a photo agency called Artwing . We are a full service photo agency that specializes in fashion, advertising and celebrity. We recently began an exciting collaboration with the newly revamped Interview Magazine. In addition to a full page in the October issue of Interview, we are also co-hosting a masquerade party next month that promises to be one of the best parties of the season. Keep reading here for more details and pick up your October Interview Magazine with James Franco on the cover. Special thanks to Glenn O'Brien, Fabien Baron and especially Susan Kilkenny for making this happen.
There has been lots of talk around town and "The Internets" about what the financial implosion on Wall Street means for life in the city. More specifically, we've opined on the uber important issue of a possible end to high-priced bottle service in New York nightclubs, Gawker has followed suit predicting that the end may be nigh for a $450 dollar bottle of Ketel One, and the WSJ has written about other allied industries" fears. But few in the NYC webosphere have predicted when we might actually hit bottom, or rather how we will know when we've hit it.
Enter Lockhart Steele. The man, the myth, the founder of the Curbed network, and one of the most powerful people in NY real estate. So what does he have to say about high-priced bottles? Nothing, he isn't your typical character in clubland. If you want to find him you're better off pulling out your nerd-o-meter and zeroing in on the nearest media party, or maybe even a blogfest he is putting on. But what does he say about hitting the bottom?
