The cast of “The City” <3 Gen Art! Olivia Palermo and Whitney Port came out to support the 15 year old company at the I <3 Gen Art Annual Benefit. The event was held at 7W, and attendees got to mingle, enjoy the art, and see for themselves just how real or fake “The City” really is….

Big names were in no short supply at last night’s party at the Whitney Museum: Lucy Liu, Matt Dillon, and Josh Lucas all came out to celebrate Persol’s Incognito Design Exhibition. The exhibition entitled, Selseleh/Zelzeleh: Movers & Shakers in Contemporary Iranian Art, is a group show made up of 40 artists, all of whom are Iranian (or hold that as their heritage). More»

Last night marked two red-letter events for Russian-born artist, Lana Lucas: her birthday, which was celebrated at the opening of her latest exhibit, “Thru the Prism of Green Eyes”, at the InterArt Gallery.  Art lovers and friends came to view the surrealist painter’s deeply provocative work, which is known to feature intense subject matter while making use of sumptuous and vibrant colors.  More»

Tyler Rollins Fine Art was pleased to unveil Eko Nugroho and Wedhar Riyadi’s Tales from Wounded Land. Over 300 guests joined proclaimed artists Sopheap Pich and Jakkai Siributr to view the works of some of the most noted members in Indonesian society of our generation. Bids on various pieces were entertained, with sales completing before the end of the evening. More»

The exhibit, organized by artist Ross Bleckner, features 200 paintings by human trafficking victims plagued by rebel groups in Northern Uganda.  The event took place in the UN delegates dining room and and benefited the artists themselves and their peers: former child soldiers and abducted girls exploited for violence.  More»

Last night at the Heist Gallery on the Lower East Side, owner Talia Eisenberg hosted an opening reception for the gallery’s new exhibit, “12 Instances.”  “12 Instances” is a group exhibition of Polaroids curated by photographer Molly Surno, and explores photography’s first medium of “instant gratification” and “immediacy” before the dawn of the digital age.  Talia wore a dress by designer Keith Lissner (one of the stars in Bravo’s new series “The Fashion Show”), who joined in the celebration along with  guests such as skater Oksana Baiul, curator Molly Surno, Mark Langrish, and Annabel Vartanian among others.

The May 6th gala was held at the 69th Regiment Armory. Amanda Brooks, Cindy Sherman, David Byrne, Leonard Lauder, Creative Time President Anne Pasternak, and Director of the Whitney Museum Adam Weinberg were among the attendees.
