Fans of What Goes Around Comes Around, the vintage inspired clothing brand, got together last night to preview its latest bohemian chic collection. Hosted by TV personality Robert Verdi, model Irina Lazareanu, and it-girl Becka Diamond, guests browsed through 70s influenced pieces for men and women at the Soho store, while enjoying drinks, a DJ, and a band. Spotted among the studded leather jackets and plaid shirts was The Beautiful Life’s Mischa Barton. More photos below…. More»

The Marc and GaGa party wasn’t the only place at which all the cool kids ended up last night. Kirsten Dunst, Bjork, and Dree Hemingway were all at AnOther Magazine Dinner at the Jane followed by an afterparty co-hosted by Dazed & Confused and Georgia May Jagger.  Models, editors, photographers, other fashion types, as well as some rocker progeny (Frances Bean Cobain) were actually seen tearing it up (gasp) on the dance floor as Paul Sevigny spun.

[Lorenzo Martone and Olivia Palermo at the Carlos Miele show. Photo by PMc] We’re tired, aren’t you? How about you, Liv and Lorenzo? Running back and forth from the tents, the Metropolitain Pavilion, Milk Studios, and wherever else these crazy designers are holding their shows. It really seems impossible to keep up with them all (let alone pronounce all their names correctly). So just in case you missed out, here’s a little round-up of Rebecca Minkoff, Chris Benz, and Carlos Miele, who all showed their gear to the good people of New York Fashion Week the past couple days. Anna Wintour, Bee Schaffer

Anna never likes to wait, but sometimes one doesn’t have a choice. She double fisted Blackberry and phone before the Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 fashion show began, so at least she could get some work done during the lag. More»

While we were chatting with society photog Patrick McMullan, he made the bold statement that the Boom Boom Room in the Standard Hotel was the biggest opening since Studio 54. After considering it, he might be right (the man’s definitely an authority, having been to both).  Just sitting in Andre Balazs’s new spot, you can feel the scene. There’s a certain energy in the air. That got us thinking, what really would make a new Studio 54? Since we love spending time during one of the busiest weeks of our year  thoughtlessly pondering, here’s what we came up with… More»

I know, everyone is jumping for joy over the clothes, clothes, clothes! More from the weekend, we have Aysha Saeed’s Pop Up shop, which included sweets and shopping at Cielo. There was also Genetic Denim, an art installation of models and jeans. Then Mena Suvari, Anisha Lakhani and Alexa Chung joined Rebecca Taylor for her presentation and afterparty at Rm. Fifty-5 at the Dream Hotel. Finally, Carlos Campos showed his new collection at a 21st street loft. Phew! So much shopping, soooo little time! More»

Diane von Furstenberg[All photos by PATRICK MCMULLAN and JONATHON ZIEGLER for PMc]. Diane von Furstenberg is the every woman’s woman, something obvious from the attendance of her runway show in the tents, yesterday. Blake Lively, Candice Bergen, Giancarlo Giammetti, Simon Doonan, Rachel Zoe, Carine Roitfeld, Andre Balazs, Patricia Field, (husband) Barry Diller, Fran Leibowitz, Fern Mallis, Cathy Horyn, Phillip Bloch and Rachelle Hruska came to see the latest looks from the designer, wrap-dress creator, AmEx spokeswoman, dispenser of life lessons on “The City,” power couple half, part royal, 70’s sex kitten, CFDA big wig, and oh yeah, mother. Not just an authority on what to wear, this lady clearly knows what lifestyle is all about. More»

Getting your sh-t together for Fashion Week seems like an impossible task if you’re a designer, so we are giving Alexander Wang an A+ not only for turning out some amazing pieces, but also putting on what might be the best afterparty, yet. At a Mobil gas station on 15th and 10th, it went beyond recession chic to really bring back that all-too-rare totally downtown cool. Mischa Barton, Kirsten Dunst, Jared Leto, Devon Aoki, Erin Wasson, and Zev Norotsky joined the designer to watch performances by Courtney Love and Santogold. Kristian Laliberte chugged Veuve from the bottle (hopefully his own), and there were burgers and fries to round out the ghetto glam. More»

Koka Consulting hosted a slew of international brands and editors for their Go Global party party at the Griffin on Saturday, a venue which is still kicking despite persisting rumors. Richie Rich was getting in some Fashion Week fun, mingling among teams including Cavalli, Ungaro, Kenzo, Evisu and Malandrino for the melting pot of industry insiders. More»

Besides the shock that September is upon us is the realization that Fashion’s Night Out is only one week away! Are you prepared for the global celebration of fashion? The doors of the city’s fashion destinations, be they hipster boutiques or couture castles, will stay open late into the evening of September 10th for everyone, no tickets needed and certainly no velvet rope in place. Make sure you’ve got your game plan before the night is upon us… More»
