Last night, a POSH dinner at the Sherry Netherland Hotel’s Doubles Club attracted New York’s reigning fashionable and philanthropic crowd for a benefit dinner honoring Vogue editor-at-large, Hamish Bowles.  POSH also known as “The Hottest Sale in Town” is an annual fashion sale sponsored by Lighthouse International, and features new and gently used items donated by various designers and celebrities. The Accompanied Literary Society unveiled a lost manuscripts by Edgar Allan Poe with readings by Josh Lucas and Roger Rees.  Fans everywhere, including Mary-Kate Olsen, Piper Perabo, and David Schwimmer gathered at Rendezvous Lounge, which is under Bagatelle, on Halloween to hear.  Liam McMullan was the photographer of the evening…that kid does it all!

Thursday night brought out more than a couple of “witches” to the newly opened Cain:LUXE for designer Jeremy Scott’s Halloween party. Amanda Lepore, Andre J. and crew along with Leigh Wizzard and Derek Blasberg who took over the DJ booth for a bit.  Another guest that showed up? L.A.’s prodigy Mark Hunter of Cobrasnake fame.

Devorah Rose and Kristian Laliberte dressed as matching Hooters girls on Halloween. Devorah told us that her and her crew went around town to various parties including the Literary Society’s at Bagatelle (more on this party tomorrow), the Box, Rose Bar, and some loft parties.

Sadly, neither has any information on the Emily Brill mystery, but we are not prepared to stop until we get answers….

Emmett, James, and the entire LOLA crew were at a RAGING Halloween party this Friday night.  But where exactly were they?  There seem to be an abundance of cool types here, Jonathan Famous on the DJ booth, at least two bands, and hundreds of “don’t-call-us-hipster” types.  Where were they? Bungalow 8 may be going through an interesting time right now, but it let’s not forget that it used to be the BEST party on Halloween in this city for YEARS.  Rose Bar seems to have taken over as top spot for the socialite Halloween parade of characters, but Bungee is still doing it’s thing, and we sent our lovely Jamie down to 27th street to see what the kids were up to this year.  It probably felt weird for the guests to spot a camera crew (which reality show this time?) filming there, at a place that was once infamous for enforcing a strict “no pictures” policy. The place had a complete makeover for the holiday.

Halloween in NYC is crazier than New Years.  When it falls on a Friday, things get out of control.  The long cab rides (if you’re lucky enough to find one), the crazies in costumes, and the numerous decisions you are presented with are enough to drive a person insane!  Which is why, we are THANKFUL that we made it to Monday and can put the insanity behind us.  We can now enjoy sifting through the photos from the safety of our desks.  We will be taking a look at various parties that took place on Friday and try and give our best assessment of the hits and misses starting right now with Rose Bar.  Jessica Hart helped Nur Khan and Scott Lipps host the party that infamously draws some of the biggest socials out.  Fabiola Beracasa, Genevieve Jones, Jeremy Piven, Derek Blasberg and Starvros Nicharos were among the guests that weren’t afraid to venture to Gramercy Park Hotel in costume.

From Pre-Party, to Post-Party, to everything in between.  Last night, THE party to be was the Halloween Masquerade at 1Oak presented by Artwing, MAC Makeup and Alex and Ani with Lydia Hearst. More photos will be added as the day wears on.

Halloween in NYC comes more than once a year.  Last night, we lived enough Hallween’s for five years, however, I suppose tonight is the REAL date to celebrate for many.  But how to sift through the dozens of invites exploding in your inbox?  I’ll highlight some of the more important parties tonight:

1. Halloween at Rose Bar: STRICTLY INVITE ONLY! Last night was just a teaser of the fun that is to be had tonight at Rose Bar in the Gramercy Hotel.  Presented by Nur Khan, Scott Lipps and Jessica Hart, Damien at the front is going to make sure that it’s going to be one of the hardest doors of the night. You better be dressed the part.
2. Heidi Klum’s Annual Party at 1Oak: STRICTLY INVITE ONLY! Heidi and her husband Seal have consistently wowed us with their Halloween parties, and costume picks.  This will, as always, be one of the hottest costume parties.
3. Heroes and Villian’s night by Milk Studios: STRICTLY INVITE ONLY!  Hosted by Mazdack Rassi, Ben Pundole, and our favorite Ben Watts.  You know when Mr. Watts is involved, the party will be rocking!
4. Amy Saaco’s Halloween at Bungalow 8: STRICTLY INVITE ONLY!  You can try getting passed Disco, but it will be tough, at the infamous party that Amy throws for her personal friends each year, the names in attendance are consistently big.
