[Jodie and Danielle Snyder] You may recognize their pieces from Gossip Girl-your favorite characters have all sported them-or perhaps from the numerous stores and online outlets like Bendel’s, Bergdorf’s, Net-a-Porter, and ShopBob (to name a few), that carry their eclectic creations. Or perhaps you have heard whispers of their names around the LWALA events.  Whatever the case, Jodie and Danielle Snyder, the beautiful and charismatic sisters from Jacksonville, FL have taken NYC by storm; picking up fans along the way (myself included). Team Hamptons will be hosting a trunk show this weekend at Alice & Olivia with DANNIJO (details below), which means it’s the perfect time to get an official interview with them.  More»

[Punky B, Miss Softie, and FluterScooter. All photos by Sarah St. Lifer] Only blocks from Williamsburg’s never ending party, Greenpoint Brooklyn is eerily silent on a Friday night. Save for a few stray cats, the streets are empty, and the businesses are closed. The only sign of life comes from a truck depot off McGuinness Boulevard, where three girls, two in bikinis and one in a ‘50s-style purple frock, are turning off generators and inspecting their tires. These visions in the night are the ladies of Queen Frostine, your friendly, neighborhood ice cream girls. I had the pleasure of interviewing Andrea (a.k.a. FluterScooter), a Juilliard-trained flautist and the founder of Queen Frostine, Genevieve (a.k.a. Punky B), a performance artist from Minnesota, and Chrissy (a.k.a. Miss Softie) a former advertising strategist, who make up half of the Queen Frostine army… More»

In late 2007, five young professionals, long connected by both friendship and family, decided to pool and tap into their own altruistic nature while encouraging others to do so. Their forum - the party. Calling themselves ‘fun-raisers’ their track record bears evidence. Each party, named symbolically to represent the initiative, donates 100% of ticket sales to a chosen non-profit organization. The first party, L’Altruist Noir, gave them their name and was arranged to benefit Sudanese High School students. Then Amal, meaning ‘hope’ in Arabic, raised money for Alliance Investment Fund to help orphans and children of sex workers in Ethiopia. More»

We sat down with handbag designer Paige Gamble in the middle of a whirlwind of a busy season. With Whitney Port trotting out her Paige Gamble clutch with her Luca Luca gown at the 2009 CDFAs, trunk shows at Bergdorfs and Bendels, and the opening of a summer shop in the Hamptons, this designer has never been more in demand. In 2005, Gamble left her career in finance in New York City to create her own exotic leather handbag label. Her eponymous collection of one-of-a-kind clutches, totes and headpieces is most recognized now for her partnering of precious leathers such as alligator, stingray, anaconda, lizard, and crocodile with exotic gemstones and minerals from around the world… More»

I had previously met Anna Coroneo, the dark-glossy haired Australian beauty through a mutual friend. But, it was on a rainy day during Fashion Week, where I had the chance to collect a few insights about this multi-dimensional up-and-coming designer and artist.  Anna Coroneo currently calls the magical New York City her home. But her upbringings take her back to the shores of Australia where she grew up in Sydney, and first acquired a taste for design while closely observing her stellar designer grandmother.
