Go HERE for more photos by CHRIS KRALIK and TAG YOURSELF and YOUR FRIENDS!

Guests at the Empire Hotel’s New Year’s Eve party got to party on a rooftop fully enclosed with glass, offering panoramic views of NYC.  There was a 5 hour premium open bar, food from Jeffery Chodorow, and three rooms with views overlooking Broadway, with DJ Suhel, our very own DJ from our GofG holiday party there providing the tunes.

If you were in NYC for New Year’s, and were in the mood to party with some real experienced New Yorkers, you were at Santos Party House watching Sophia Lamar pouring champagne, the Misshapes on stage, and Bad Brilliance in the crowd getting some action.  There were characters galore, and alcohol for everyone.  It was THE party to be at to ring in 2009.

Thompson LES Rings In The New Year At Above Allen

[New Year's Eve Party at Above Allen. Photos by AMBER DE VOS for PmC]

New York City’s downtown hotel, Thompson LES, might be home to new hot spot Shang, but it’s also home to exclusive rooftop lounge, Above Allen, who hosted their very own New Year’s Eve party. Good times, bubbly, and noise makers were had by all. Guests included Ashley Ciccarelli, Bonnie Awesu, Maria Vu, Max McGarr, and John Aksoy. We wonder how many partyers crashed in one of the hotel’s surprisingly inexpensive suites afterward?

The Ultimate NYE Slumber Party! Hosted By Scott Buccheit, Lydia Hearst, And Carrie Baker

So some of my friends and I were stuck in New York for New Year’s Eve and wondering what to do. The idea of being in a club on new year’s made us gag, so we came up with the idea to have a slumber party. We hadn’t had one since we were kids.

The only requirement was that you had to wear pajamas. And not sexy pajamas, comfortable flannel pajamas….

Catch-22 Says Goodbye To 2008

Go HERE for more photos from this event by Jamie Chiu and TAG YOURSELF and YOUR FRIENDS!

While there were tons of parties sprinkled across the city on New Year’s Eve, some New Yorkers slipped into a different era while partying at Joshep Heller’s New Year’s Eve Party at 1940’s themed hotspot Catch-22.  GofaG’s Jamie Chiu got in on the action with fellow 2009-ers and welcomed the new year alongside historic WWII memorabilia, crystal chandeliers, and yes, a foosball table.

Merkato 55 Makes Atypical Night Appearance For New Year’s Party

Go HERE to see more photos from this event by STEVEN EKEROVICH and TAG YOURSELF and YOUR FRIENDS!

The Koch Brothers hosted a grand party at Merkato 55 this New Years Eve.  With hors d’oeuvres passed by men in suits, champagne incessantly flowing all about, and sparklers setting the room in flames, the scene looked much like their infamous brunches on steroids.  Plus it actually was dark outside, which meant people were even more in the mood for debauchery.  Steven Ekerovich joined the twins in ringing in the New Year and scored some festive photos for us to look through.

A very sexy Katy Perry helped ring in the New Years with friends at Gridlock New Year’s Eve at Paramount Studios in L.A.

WHAT’S COOL: Along with guests Jesse McCartney, Dave Annabelle, Jesse Metcalfe, members from Maroon 5 and Linkin Park, the party will re-create Times Square, but instead of the ball drop it will be a Hollywood star risin.

Open ‘09 With Olympians! Tim And Jason’s New Year’s Party

[Jason and Tim countdown to '09 with Richie Rich]

Go HERE for more photos from this event and TAG YOURSELF and YOUR FRIENDS!

New Year’s Eve was our latest endeavor into the NYCevents scene with a party of our own design, the aptly named, “Open ’09 with Olympians” at Elmo’s Lounge. With very little experience about what it takes to throw a cool party and sell tickets (why does everyone wait until the last minute to finalize NYE plans?!?!), we were in a bit over our heads, but in the end we learned a lot of valuable party planning lessons and it all came together with a packed house, a hip crowd and most importantly— we raised about $4000 dollars for the Right To Play charity!
