Singing Happy Birthday To Adidas: Party On For 60 More Years Of Stripes

[The phenomenal hand clap band. BILLY FARRELL for PMc]
The 60 years that adidas has had so far have been full of success for a sneaker company that prides itself on its signature 3-stripe mark. Last night a party was held to showcase the new spring/summer 2009 Original collection. Celebrating 60 Years of Soles & Stripes went off in Brooklyn, in a two-floor installation that was built to look like a house for a ‘house’ party setting. This was another definite success for adidas as the night was filled with fun, smiles, break dancing, gift-bags and inspiration. Guests included The Phenominal Handclap Band who performed, Adrian Grenier, Le Call, Nicholas Kratochvil, Clint Spaulding, and other hot (under 60 years of age) party goers.
Aruba Ariba! Lewis Black Bringing Aruba Back!

[Photos by AMBER DE VOS for PMc]
Looking for a place to travel to this year? Say hello to the newest hip place to travel to: Aruba. Lewis Black, the new spokesperson for Aruba tourism is not only encouraging people to visit the place, he’s throwing parties in its honor. In the campaign themed “90,000 friends you haven’t met yet”, the comedian browses around Aruba talking to locals like spa owners, chefs, windsurfers and musicians, listening to their individual stories on why they love the island. If I’m going to have as much fun at the people at this party last night (at The Canal Room), sign me up for Aruba!

Odin Duo Hosts Fashionable Evening At Goldbar

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer stopped by Goldbar last night, we get it. Seriously it’s all over the news, you hadn’t heard? However, contrary to popular belief, the Golden couples appearance wasn’t even the most eventful thing that happened at the hot-spot on Broome. Odin, one of the hottest destinations for menswear in NYC, hosted a party there last night to celebrate the launch of their website odinnewyork.com, as well as their new woman’s boutique Pas de Deux. Store founders Eddy Chai and Paul Birardi hosted the evening, and guests included Phillip Lim, Robert Geller, Andi Muise, and a host of gorgeous fashionistas.

So, in case you were living in a bubble or just came back from the moon, it’s a rough time no matter what career you are in. As many may know, when the going gets tough all you need to do is PARTY! This is what people with jobs (er, ex jobs?) in the media did last night at the monthly Media Meshing organized by Gawker’s video Guru Richard Blakely at Sweet and Vicious. We encountered lots of gossip and alcoholics of course.

Happy Birthday Supper Club NYC!

[Photos by DAVID X PRUTTING for PMc]
A lot can happen in a year. For instance, last fall I crashed the New York Supper Club Launch at the National Arts Club and 12 months later my name was on the list for the Supper Club’s One Year birthday at Haven. That’s progress. I didn’t exactly crash last year, but I went as a last minute plus one and I’m pretty sure Tamsin Lonsdale had no idea who I was. Actually, most people had no idea who I was. That’s what the Supper Club and I have in common: We’ve both grown over the last year! However, the supper club is a lot more fabulous!

Gradient Magazine Party At Citrine, Misery Loves Company With Scott And Naeem
Go HERE for more photos from this event from Jamie Chiu and Scott and Naeem and TAG YOURSELF and your friends!
Ok, let’s start off by saying, we like to keep things in our posts positive. So on a positive note, Citrine is a cute space and we got to catch up with some friends. That’s about all the good we can muster for last night’s Gradient Magazine launch. The back cover of the magazine reads “Shit is coming!” Well that really should have been the cover of the magazine, because that’s just what you get when you open the mag up. Bad layout, bad photography, bad fonts, bad, bad, bad.

The James Gang from America’s Got Talent performed, and Richie Rich surprised everyone when he jumed out of the cake!
Marc Jacobs’ Christmas Party Canceled!

[At Marc Jacob's Christmas party '07]
OMFG! Did you hear the news? Marc Jacobs is canning his Christmas Party this year!!!! Scott sent me the dismal news last night and he is beyond sad. This recession is really putting a damper on our holiday parties. I don’t know why people don’t just step up to the plate, take one for the team, and continue on with their holiday parties.

Harvey Weinstein And Crew Host “Bipartisan” Election Party

Last night, The Pulic House here in NYC was the site of a Bipartisan Election Party hosted by Harvey Weinstein, Georgette Mosbacher, Cindi Leive, and Jim Nelson (of GQ). The party may have been Bipartisan, but the mood favored Obama as cheers erupted throughout when the senator was announced winner. Gossip Girls Taylor Monson went to show her support (though at 15 she had to sit this election out). Other notable attendees included:

Gawkerfest Not To Be Affected By The Recession

[All photos by Nick NcGlynn, Random Night Out]
Nick Denton may have had to streamline his business in the face of the recession this month, but, unlike others, he’s not cutting back when it comes to parties. No, Denton realizes the importance of a well planned party and refuses to cut back on the details. Take the Gawktoberfest, held at Gawker’s offices on Mott street last Friday, where Gawker commenters and readers were brought together by Becks beer, an oompa band, and German Girls in tights. Nothing was left out as illustrated in the photo above. Hey, at least we know, that in spite of job cuts, the party will go on.
