[Chris Brady and friends, at last years Hunt] This Saturday marks the 89th running of the Far Hill Race Meeting, otherwise known as “The Hunt”. This Horse Race is New Jersey’s biggest event of the fall, drawing over 50,000 people, though it more aptly refers to ”the race” of those desperate and dateless men and women who will try their best at a last minute dash to secure some sort of hook-up prior to the desolate break that is the New York winter. Brook Astor’s Son, Anthony Marshall, Found Guitly Of Fraud And Criminal Possession Of Stolen Property

[Frederick Hafetz , Anthony Marshall's lawyer pictured Left] As an anxious press crowd gathered around the visibly sullen Frederick Hafetz, Anthony Marshall’s defense attorney, months of inter-family turmoil enveloping uptown New York concluded with a few short statements outside the Manhattan Supreme Court. The lawyer proclaimed that his client, son of the late Brooke Astor, “plans to appeal.” He also somberly asserted that, “Anthony loved his mother.” More»
Breaking: Brooke Astor Trial Verdict Reached, Son Anthony Marshall Convicted, Hundred Thousand Dollar Bail
The Astor verdict is in, Anthony Marshall has been convicted. The late society chronicler Dominick Dunne is most certainly sitting in social Heaven quite disappointed to have missed the haute monde trial of the semi-century. The case involves the late Brooke Astor, an upper east side dowager renowned for her class and altruism, and her son Anthony Marshall, 85, who allegedly attempted to defraud his Alzheimer-impaired mum out of $60 million dollars (already pledged to New York charities) with the help of real estate lawyer Francis Morrissey, 66.
The original complaint not only shocked the social world with the alleged betrayal of a beloved social icon by her own son and heir, but also detailed a state of squalor in which dame Astor was allegedly rendered by her plotting son and his wife. The report makes Grey Gardens look like the Taj Mahal and Edith Beales’ last days seems like paradise.
Our correspondent Emily Hollander is outside of the New York Supreme Court on Centre street awaiting the results of the Astor trial verdict. Developing…
[Kristian Laliberte, such an upstanding gay citizen] It started with an angry tweet from social gay Kristian Laliberte, claiming The Georgica Restaurant & Lounge in East Hampton wouldn’t kick out a high-rolling patron who allegedly verbally insulted him with an anti-gay tirade. When asked for specifics, Laliberte would not divulge, however, he readily took the opportunity to stump against the use of anti-gay words. The Georgica Management also declined comment, however, thankfully for two anonymous tipsters, we now have the other side of the story… More»
This weekend social gay Kristian Laliberte tweeted that he was verbally “assaulted” at The Georgica Restaurant & Lounge in East Hampton by a heterosexual patron who apparently spouted a verbal barrage of hatred at the man-about-town. When Laliberte cried foul to the management, he was told that the person couldn’t be kicked out. Why? Because they spent a lot!
@kristianlaliber - Love getting assaulted at georgica and being told the douche who called me a jew and a fag was too rich to get kicked out

“You talk about an agent of change, she is it. If the test is what you’re doing that’s been helpful for humanity, you’d be hard pressed to fine another member of the family who’s done more.”
-Senator Edward Kennedy
[Ah, I'm just so exhausted from this sun....snoooze] You’ve probably heard about Soho House’s anti-Finance guy eugenics, a program instituted this summer banning suits and ties on the roof to engender a more “relaxed” atmosphere. More recently, the club has tried to foster a more “artistc” vibe by bringing in real books into its quarters (not just book wallpaper!). Curiously, however, they continue to tolerate socialites. Namely, Jules Kirby, one of the more media friendly types who was recently arrested for filching a flag while drunk in the Hamtpons. Kirby has a proclivity to generating a constant stream of web updates, including her tanning activities on the Soho House rooftop, replete with pictures! Another sizzling shot of Mrs. Kirby below (semi NSFW). More»
One of our favorite socialites, Lydia Hearst took her baby blue bicycle out for a spin this weekend. What’s with the balloons? No she wasn’t just getting back from the street fairs, Lydia was smack in the middle of a photo shoot, presumably for her new movie, “The Last International Playboy” set to open in theaters on June 12th. There has been a ton of hype about the movie (have you spotted a “Lydia-bus” yet?), mainly due to the fact that the opening scene has Hearst, 24, stripping, and getting cozy with a guy and a girl, played by Australian supermodel Nicole Trunfio, in the laundry room during a model-saturated soiree in a NYC apartment.

While the civil and criminal lawsuits alleging fraud and negligence are starting to trickle in for the Fairfield Greenwich Group (FGG), the legal jury is still out as to how culpable they are in regards to the $7.5 billion dollars the group lost with Bernard Maddoff. But for FGG co-founder Walter Noel and his jet setting socialite clan of daughters (Marisa Noel Brown, etc.) and son-in-law salesmen (Andres Piedrahita, Philip Toub, etc.), the “social” jury is in, and it is a resounding guilty as charged. In April, many “friends” anonymously took snipes at them in the Vanity Fair article Greenwich Mean Time. Now the Round Hill Club of Greenwich, CT has asked them not to return (aka revoked their membership). A tipster notes:
The Round Hill Club recently revoked the Noel family membership. After all of the heat they have drawn and the publicity nightmare, it looks like they [the club members] have had enough…
