Stephanie Wei’s Birthday Celebration At Lure And The Randolph
Go HERE for more photos by J.T. WHITE and TAG YOURSELF and YOUR FRIENDS!
Last week, Stephanie Wei’s birthday party at Lure and then The Randolph was more fun than she knew what to do with (note Liam McMullan carrying her out of party). After a LONG dinner at one of her favorite restaurants the whole group walked to Broome street to continue the celebration with friends at the Randolph. More photos below… More »

The Wei: OMFG, I’m a Page Six Magazine IT Girl!!!
[Perusing the Sunday Papers over Breakfast in Quogue; Rachelle Hruska, David X Prutting, Random Girl, and Stephanie Wei. Photo by David X Prutting]
It’s weird to see a photo spread of yourself in a Magazine, especially posing with Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick (better known as “Chuck Bass”). It’s even crazier to be tagged by Page Six Magazine as one of three NYC’s IT Girls. But I’m not going to lie, it’s pretty cool and exciting!!!
I was having breakfast on Sunday morning at a diner in Quogue with Rachelle, David X Prutting, and two other friends when I remembered that the story was in Page Six Magazine. We all huddled around to see the photo and read the “blurb” about me.
I love love love the picture of Ed and I!

Stephanie Wei’s Page Six Article Finally Here!

We heard all about the exciting shoot that Stephanie Wei undertook a couple of weeks ago. You know, the one where she got to lie across Gossip Girl hottie Ed Westwick? Over breakfast at the “Inn Spot” in Quogue this Sunday morning, we all watched Ms. Wei open her spread. The photo we all loved…as for her “blurb”, well you’ll have to wait for her critique of that later….

Liam McMullan And Stephanie Wei Rule The Skies
I live everyday like I were going to die tomorrow. Liam McMullan and I went skydiving recently in Long Island. I had just gotten back from Seattle and Liam called, “I’m going skydiving in the morning. Want to come?” My response, “Sure, why not?” I’d always wanted to go skydiving and I was just waiting for the right time. It was on the way to the Hamptons, where I was going the next day, anyway. At 6 am, we took a train to Huntington and picked up Liam’s car at his grandmother’s house.
I am scared of heights. For reals. I figured that jumping out of a plane at 13,500 feet would be the perfect way to conquer my fear. As we drove up to the Long Island Skydiving Center, I felt mixed emotions - I was super excited, but at the same time, I was scared to death.

The Wei: Obama Vs. McCain – Who Can Keep Democracy Ticking?

[Photo via Election Watches via PMC]
I can’t get enough of my Waving Election Watches! With the presidential election only three months away, time is of the essence. I was instantly obsessed when my friend, Ariel Moses, introduced them to me earlier this week. I could now support my candidate of choice AND making a fashion statement!
The Waving Watches feature a portrait of your favorite presidential candidate, Barack Obama or John McCain, who actually waves at you with his right-hand. Although I am already set on which candidate is getting my vote in November, I loved both of the “designs.”

The Wei: Top Ten Reasons I Love Seattle
I’m back from Seattle and it feels good to be home. To native New Yorkers: Yes, I just referred to NYC as “home.” God forbid, who do I think I am??!! Get over it. I’m not trying to claim that I’m a “real” New Yorker; only that “home” for me is NYC at the moment (and probably for at least another five years; sorry to break it to you, DBTH).
During this trip, I sadly admit that I felt like a tourist in my own hometown. However, from the eyes of a “tourist,” I saw Seattle from a new perspective, and I had one of those “moments,” not exactly an epiphany, but perhaps something to that degree. I realized that for the first time, I was truly appreciating Seattle for all its wonders and more…
Top Ten Reasons Why I Love Seattle:
10. Fremont’s Troll sculpted under the Aurora Bridge in Seattle.
Who doesn’t love trolls? Remember those troll dolls from the 90s? They were so ugly that they were “cute”, but really, they were hideous. I still had at least 30 of them as loyal playmates circa ’92.
-
9. Eco-friendly -Seattle lives up to itstree-hugging hippie “green” reputation.
As of January 1, 2009, the city will become one of the first major American cities to put a 20 cent fee on paper and plastic bags AND outlaw foam food and drink containers!

The Wei Does Seattle’s Capitol Hill’s Block Party
“Wow what a crowd!…how do we get a beer around here.”-Stephanie Wei
I’m currently in Seattle, Washington (more specifically, Bellevue, which is right outside the city) visiting my parents. I grew up and lived in Bellevue until I fled east to Yale for college and subsequently moved to NYC upon graduating. Basically, I haven’t been around much for the past seven years.
I’d almost forgotten how great Seattle is in the months of July and August. However, I do always argue that there’s nowhere else better to be in the continental U.S. during July and August than Seattle. I stand by that statement, particularly after this current trip. I also believe that Seattle may be the country’s best kept secret…but I digress.

The Wei: Something’s In The Air In ‘08
Back in March, I felt this new wave of energy. I didn’t know what it was exactly yet or have the words to describe it. I had a feeling 2008 was going to be a year to remember. I was having coffee with my friend and mentor, Steve Paul and we were discussing his current project, downtowntv.com. I used the opportunity to pick his brain and I asked him if he could liken this nondescript energy to when he was just a “kid” in 1968. He responded, “Oh yeah, definitely…it’s..” I interrupted abruptly and said, “there’s just something in the air!”. Steve’s blue eyes sparkled and nodded vigorously with a big smile and responded, “that’s right, there’s something in the air.”
What I find most exciting is that we’re in one of those transitional phases that happens every some years in history. Things are changing so quickly; we’re in an economic downtown; most of the world hates America (and Americans). Yet, I still feel inspired and optimistic because it also brings the spirit of possibility and probability; we’re hungry for change.
