Tinsley Mortimer Celebrates Her Cameo On Gossip Girl

[Fabiola Beracasa congratulates Tinsley Mortimer at her Gossip Girl party. Photos by CHANCE YEH for Patrick McMullan]
One of the several parties going on last night on our island included a celebratory bash put on by Dior Beauty to celebrate Tinsley Mortimer’s cameo on Season Two of Gossip Girl. The guests looked on top of the world on the Empire Hotel’s rooftop, and even Tins’ hubby Topper showed up to support his gal. Other guests included: Fabiola Beracasa, Peter Davis, Genevieve Jones, Lindsay Trulli, Jessica Stam, Derek Blasberg, Saree Kayne, Nicole Fiscella, Ricky Wilson, Dianne Vavra, Karl Giant, Anisha Lakhani, Susan Shin, Lara Lachman, Nell Rebowe, and Marilyn Muffs among others.

Countdown To Gossip Girl Continues…
The official episode description of the second season premiere was posted recently!
As the summer draws to a close in the Hamptons, Serena and Nate have everyone fooled into thinking they are a couple to cover up the fact that Nate has been hooking up with a married older woman and Serena has been secretly mourning her break-up with Dan. Blair returns from abroad with a hot guy on her arm, making a very jealous Chuck question his decision to leave Blair stranded at the heliport. Dan has spent the summer assisting a famous author, but decides to head to the Hamptons to see how things stand with Serena after a summer spent apart. While interning for Eleanor Waldorf’s company, Jenny sneaks an invite to a much-coveted Hamptons’ White Party at which Eric introduces her to socialite Tinsley Mortimer.

Let’s Play The Fame Game…
Today’s Fame Game match up is between Blake Lively and Tinsley Mortimer. While Blake may be the veteran of the famed Gossip Girl show (in which Tinsley just scored a cameo appearance), Tinsley is the veteran of Manhattan’s social scene. Though they tie in their ability to pull off the bent arm pose, this match up is a no-contest win for Mrs. Mortimer.
The Tinz Takes On Gossip Girl
From: hamptons.guestofaguest.com
Tinsley Mortimer has landed herself a cameo on Gossip Girl. They are currently out east filming for the fall and were recently shooting a scene with all the cast members dressed in white. Were they perhaps going to Diddy’s annual white party? Hopefully we’ll be able to score more of the scoop this afternoon at the Golf Tournament in West Hampton where the cast members are supposedly going to.
Hallelujah!! Tinsley Mixes It Up!

I am so thankful to my friends over at Racked today for posting this picture they snapped of the Tins outside the tents. Can you believe it? She mixed up her wardrobe! Though it’s very similar (green is the new blue, pink the new red), at least she’s trying.
Tinsley Mortimer Plagiarizes Herself
Wardrobes are a socialite’s bread and butter, it can be what makes or breaks them. A top socialite can command the sartorial splendor of even the most coveted designers out there, always showing off new wares, glamor, glitz, and style. Often they get these desired garments free, as gifts from the designers themselves, making it très easy for them to mix it up, using their bodies’ as canvases. That is except for Tinsley Mortimer , who appears to be the least creative of the bunch, plagiarizing herself all over town.
When she showed up to Rose Bar on Tuesday night with her blue dress and red belt (top middle picture), it was the straw that broke the camels back. We had seen this type of thing one too many times. Over the past year she’s been recycling outfits, using the same color schemes, and framing everything with one of two patent leather kitschy red belts that look about as ridiculous as her trademark girlish cross-legged pose. So we set out to determine when/where she has abused this fashion before.
The following collage chronicles the the whereabouts of Tins and her red belt…
1) Riccimie opening in Japan Aug, 30, 2007.
2) Joie party at Rose Bar, Feb 6, 2008.
3) Glamour Magazine Fashion Gives Back party, Sept 5, 2007.
4) My Hero Gala Event.
5) Une Journée à Paris Sept 6, 2007.
6) Chloé store re-christening, Nov 9, 2007.
And our resulting analysis is that Tinsley’s fashion can perhaps be most aptly described as a mash-up between Annie and the BMW M3 Laguna Seca Blue.

Cheers to finding a new muse in the New Year!

Tinsley’s Wants Us To Believe She Eats Domino’s

This may be the best “New York Diet” column yet. We just love NY Mag’s series where they ask relevant New Yorker’s to reveal what they eat over the span of one week. This week, worldly socialite Tinsley Mortimer gave it a go and explained her no-carb diet that consisted of domino’s pizza, donuts, and pancakes. You guys seriously have to go read this shit. We are having a tough time deciding if the article is supposed to be a clever PR trick (trying to make the Tins seem like a normal American glutton), or a cry for help. Reading over the pizza binges followed by days of nothing but coffee this isn’t a “diet” it’s a disorder. We also learn that she attended the Cavalli Halloween party at Cipriani’s on Wednesday night and likes donuts and cupcakes.
Ah alas, Tinsley goes on to justify eating oreo pizzas and stacks of pancakes because, even though that may be bad, she also always remembers to remove the bun and ketchup with her hamburgers per her “low-carb” diet. Jezebel readers had a fun time disecting this interview as well here. They went as far as adding up her total calories throughout the binge/fast week…The verdict: 10,250….You do the math.
Topper and Tinsley

Famous socialite Tinsley Mortimer has been quite the self-marketer over the years, and it’s certaintly paid off for her. No one would call into question the fact that she is one of the few leading the social circuit circus in this town. Well, at least a certain circuit of charities, galas, and fashion shows that mean the WORLD to some people, and absolutely nothing to many others. In any case, does anyone else out there every wonder where in the heck Topper Mortimer (husband) is? He is almost NEVER pictured alongside his wife, and the opportunites are many (she was photgraphed by PatrickMcmullan over 2,000 times last year alone). We admit, we are a little curious. Which is why, this Sunday’s Style Section of the Times was particularly satisfying. In an article titled “Why is the Blond Smiling?”, writer Eric Konigsberg put the spotlight on the Tinsley’s other half. Here’s what we learn:
-Topper and Tinsley eloped when they were 18. They met at private school Lawrenceville in NJ and couldn’t bear the thought of not being together after graduation. This was subsequentially annulled in the Dominican Republic. Seems his parents were not too happy about the union and forced the reluctant pair to it. Though they remarried in 2002 it may still be a somewhat sensitive subject for Topper.
-He is both “extremely proud” of his wife’s accomplishments in the fashion industry as well as obviously a little embarrassed stating:
“It’s not necessarily the type of goal that anybody should strive for, going out every night for the sake of self-promotion and getting their pictures taken,”…“And I mean, these are girls who went to good colleges. You would think they’d have something better to do.”
-Topper himself is not in any rush to be the social butterfly his wife is. He thinks that people get involved in benefits because of the credit they get and wants to see the actual results of said events. “I just never liked the whole thing with everybody trying to gain status from being involved in these charity events. I mean, I’ve always been a person who likes to take the wind out of fancy people’s sails.”
-Tinsley is quick to point out “Topper has this life in New York because he grew up here, so he doesn’t NEED the social thing. To him, it seems frivolous.”
-Topper is now working for the wealth management firm Guggenheim Partners, has remained in close touch with every single member of his elementary class from Buckley and is described as “an affable and unpretentious fellow, a workaholic” by friends. He also loves his wife, no matter what she does.

What’s Tinsley up to these days? She was one of the few American socialites (including Fabiola Beracasa, Amanda Hearst, Zani Gugelman and Bettina Zilkha) sent by Fendi to The Great Wall of China for the first ever runway event on the Great Wall.
Famegame.com

Is this the new A Small World for NYC, or a an attempt to fill the gossip void left by the departure of socialiterank.com? Well either way, we know if there is rankings involved people are going to compete. Just for fun we searched for Tinsley Mortimer and Olivia Palermo to see where these dueling socialites rank up. Looks like Tinz has a healthy lead over her junior rival, with 167 more connections and a good deal more attention…
In any event the social method behind site seems pretty interesting. It aggregates the amount of times a person’s name shows up on the web to determine their “attention %”, and apparently they add people’s names manually (not sure what the purpose of this is, but sounds like a ton of work!). So its basically like a pre-populated social-network, if that makes sense?

This is what Tinsley Mortimer chose to wear to the Just Cavalli Flagship Boutique Store Opening. We would love to just pick her up and place her right on top of our cupcake. Why didn’t someone pull her aside and remind her that she wasn’t walking down the runway in the Betsey Johnson show nor the Heatherette one? This outfit belongs on 2 year olds ballerina birthday cake, not a woman in her late thirty’s.
Mortimer’s Musings

Tinsley Mortimer is off her rocker. Don’t believe us? Today Jezebel reported that the socialite is BLOGGING!!!!!!!!!! This just makes us feel so much more validated about our jobs here at gofg.
Shown here again with Minnie and Dabney Mortimer at last night’s Van Cleef and Arpels party at the Hamerstein Ballroom, and then Glamour magazine’s Fashion Gives Back party wearing a dress from her new clothing line Riccimie:

In her first blog entry for Glamour, Tinsley admits that the dress she is wearing is a repeat appearance from this last weekend spent in Japan where she is launching her new clothing line and which has already sold out there. Typical. Blond girl goes to Japan and gets attention. Yawn. Anyway this is perfect cause for us to do some recycling as well. SO in honor of Tinsley’s Blogging debut, we will once again post the picture the famous Mortimer at Cipriani’s downtown from last spring. Enjoy.
