Daily Style Phile: A Look Back At Elizabeth Taylor, The Life Of The Party

by Chelsea Burcz · March 23, 2011

"'The more the better' has always been my motto," Elizabeth Taylor once said. With a 69-carat Cartier diamond bearing her name, two Best Actress Academy Awards, and eight marriages, Taylor was the last of the classic film stars of early Hollywood--and she certainly lived to the fullest. Her social life was glamorous spectacle, a circus of low cut dresses, famous gentlemen, and glittering diamonds. Here we take a moment to remember Liz, who passed away today at the age of 79, in all her glory, as the fabulous woman always was.

In her lifetime, she starred in over 60 films during her career, including "Father of the Bride," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," "Butterfield 8," "Suddenly, Last Summer," "Cleopatra" and "A Place In The Sun."

While her film accomplishments are stellar, Taylor was just as well known for her jewelry and 12 fragrances. Taylor was recognized for her rocks on her fingers and diamonds around her neck. The woman appreciated beauty, and all things expensive.
