We don't venture south of the Orange Curtain much but do make exceptions for certain things if they don't involve former cast members of "The Hills," and it also helps if they're really chic, like last night's grand re-opening of the shiny new Chopard store.

Known for its haute joaillerie (AKA the very fancy, expensive bling your mom keeps in the safe and just laughs when you ask to borrow for weddings), Swiss jeweler and timepiece boutique Chopard hosted an intimate soiree for its most exclusive customers and friends who got a first look at the freshly renovated space in South Coast Plaza. Guests were invited to ogle and admire the many beautiful sparkling baubles on display over champagne and treats. For entertainment, Chopard kept the nowness consistent with music by so-hot-right-now DJ Mia Moretti and electric violinist Caitlin Moe who put on one of their famous dynamic performances for the crowd.

Hosts Marc Hruschka, CEO and USA President of Chopard, and Henry and Elizabeth Segerstrom, owners of South Coast Plaza greeted the many stylish guests in attendance including Camilla Belle who looked so very lovely in a hot-off-the-runway pink Monique Lhullier dress and some Chopard ice to complete the look. Also in attendance were Nadine Coyle, Markus Molinari, Judy Chang, Jae Joseph, Kaly Corey, Dean Corey, Kendric Frances, Lauren Kamter, Allsion Cottrell, Lynn Weager, Michael Polenski, Monika Jakisic, Richard Anderson, Prerna Balani, Jen Dunlavy, Fabi Oshaneh, Scott Green, Diane Lokey Farb among many others who kept busy trying on the jewels and getting down to the Moretti-Moe vibrations.

Needless to say, last night's re-opening event was a success. And what more do you really need to have wonderful night besides great live music, champagne, a chic crowd and diamonds? So we'll see you at the next Chopard party.
