Last night philanthropists and do-gooders gathered at J.Crew's Fifth Avenue store to celebrate Teach for America Week. Hosted by Mickey Drexler and Caroline Kennedy, it was obviously an elegant and preppy affair.

During Teach for America Week, some of the city's leaders head to public schools to serve as guest teachers. This year's noble bunch includes designers Kate and Andy Spade; the president of ABC News, David Westin; Teen Vogue's Editor in Chief, Amy Astley; stylist Frederic Fekkai and Drew Nieporent, the owner of Nobu. All were present at last night's fete, which was held alongside the lush preppy gear.

"Now more than ever it is important for us to support our schools, and Teach for America Week is one way to get involved," Kennedy said.
