The Agora Gallery (530 West 25th Street, Chelsea, New York, NY, 10001) is proud to announce the opening of Ruth Gilmore Langs: Paint, a solo exhibition. Scheduled to run from November 20, 2009 through March 19, 2010, the collection will feature a captivating selection of Ruth’s new works.
Ruth Gilmore Langs approaches painting with an inner passion that becomes evident when one allows oneself to venture beyond the surface of the canvas. Once inside the painting, you are swept away by the magic of abstract expressionism in the hands of a truly gifted painter, a lover of nature, and a soul mate of other gifted painters such as; Diebenkorn, Hofman and Joan Mitchell. The journey through her work will enable you to experience the rhythm that is so essential to fully grasp her strength and vision as well as her passion. Ruth’s intuitive sense of color and composition is her natural state of being, it is her mind set, as is her ability to capture the landscape with the freedom of a child rolling down the hillside only to change direction by dashing up again to meet a clear blue sky. Here is where you find the magic, in the realization that when you truly allow the work to capture your imagination, you allow yourself the vulnerability of a child and dare to dance among the lush colors of innocence and thus surrender to the transformative nature of ‘Paint’.

I’ve followed their careers for quite some time, since they had their name sake club night EYE CANDY. The name is gifted to them because of the crowd that follows them and they seem to take that fanbase every where with them. I know friends in Denmark who are big fans of theirs and have recommended them, so I shall be at Bungalow 8 tonight with my disco slippers freshly polished!

you MUST let us know how they do!

I couldn’t make it to Bungalow 8, but I heard they were fun, so I managed to get to (after standing in line for over an hour) their other New York Performance at Nikki Beach. They were very energetic and seemed to encourage the crowd in to the DJ booth with them. It was really very amusing to watch. I’ve never seen DJ’s behave like that before, but I guess they can because there’s 2 of them. Are they straight or gay? I couldn’t tell. They were very sweet to everyone though and took time to have pictures taken with everyone who asked.

Ha ha! I’ve seen them behave like that too! Amy Sacco knows what she is doing I’m sure!

I Just watched these guys in downtown L.A last weekend.
Boy that was some energy.. I Havent seen anything like it before, Not even from our L.A local Steve Aoki.
Their music was mainly what i would refer to as Electronic. Justice Daft punk etc, with some electro and definately house thrown in.. Infact at one point they played Phil Collins “easy lover” and the crowd went with it 100% So i can only assume that they know exactly what they are doing as I am no Phil Fan. I remember M.A.N.D.Y body language was their last track of the evening, but the crowd screamed for more so they played The Ramones Blitzkrieg bop.. They climbed up onto the Turn tables and sang along.. I must admit that it was a rather spectacular show and they for sure have passion.. They are u.k based though i think?? Anyway i googled them and other than their myspace and various youtube clips i found myself here..!
Seriously they are showing up everywhere! Just saw them last night at a French Tuesday event at Goa in Hollywood after seeing them in New York. Everyone was dancing and from watching I noticed they are almost as popular with the crowd as their music was with those of the floor. It was a lot of fun but for those serious about their music, I have no doubt they too would have been impressed. They are indeed eye candy and I am happy to see them again.

I met the twins at a party last year. They are the nicest guys. Seriously.
I know them. I saw them at their B8 event, but was turned away from the French Tuesdays event the next day for dress code violation. They were up in arms when they found out. Great guys.

I would still like to see where Rolling Stone named them Europe and Asia’s #1 DJs. Seem unlikely, but nothing’s impossible.
