The video's vintage qualities lay in the mimicry of the 1960s period. This can be seen in the vintage-drobe all of the extras and characters are wearing and the sepia over cast of the Super-8 seeming film style. But as viewers, we are reminded that "National Anthem" is not a video of the past, but a work of the future, as A$AP Rocky (as JFK) and Lana Del Rey (as Jackie O.) are both seen wearing contemporary fashion statements. A$AP Rocky, from the get go, is seen rocking his famed "Silence" by Black Scale hat. He wears the cap backwards, forwards, and throughout the video as he swings his cigar and holds his head high in the best JFK fashion.
Only 50 "Silence" hats by Black Scale were released before they were made popular by A$AP rocky and the A$AP crew. They are currently sold out, but check out more hats by the label HERE.
