Bey and Jay had to file early because companies were already trying to trade mark it for future product line. On Jan. 26, they filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, trademarking the name, Blue Ivy They wanted to reserve it for a future line of baby carriages, baby cosmetics, diaper bags and more accessories for fashion-forward infants.
