Stately Sandwiches Designs A Signature Snack For Every State

by Cameron Picardi · June 6, 2012

Any foodie would agree that sandwiches are a staple in everyone's diet. Kelly Pratt, a Chicago design student, recently created a project in which she photographed a sandwich that best represented different states. With the 50 states as the inspiration, her project, Stately Sandwiches, features a smorgasbord of ingredients favored across the country.

Although Kelly is an artist, she has revealed a scientific process that she follows for her creations.

"Before I make each sandwich I do research on the Internet, call local sandwich shops, ask foodies on twitter and check out a few books to be sure I do my best to properly represent a state"

Her meticulous study of each state's culture may be the reason why she hasn't yet to cover all the states. However, even without identifying a sandwich from all 50 states, she has already gained much notoriety for her clever creations. With 38 more states to go you may want to follow Kelly on her Eat, Pray, Love-esque journey. The Stately Sandwiches Facebook fan page and twitter (@StatelySandwich) has up to date information on her upcoming endeavors.
