"Best Guests Come Bearing Gifts" The Limited Edition Marni Chair

by Daniel Reynolds · May 3, 2012

What's the best accessory for your new Marni dress? How about a chair? The Italian designer created 100 limited edition pieces for the Milan Furniture Fair (fashion week for futons?), thus expanding their "seat" of power into the world of home decor.

Perfect for indoors or outdoors, these colorful canapes are modeled after traditional Colombian chairs, whose bold patterns, hues, and designs sync well with Marni's brand. There's even a philanthropic angle: all chairs are woven with PVC threads by ex-Colombian prisoners, with proceeds benefiting ICAM of Milan, which supports children of imprisoned mothers.

No stranger to interior design, Marni's rug collection also made waves at the Furniture Fair in previous years -- and their new partnership with H&M proves this is one designer on the global rise.

But where can one buy a Marni chair? Sadly, these pieces, which ranged from €200-450, were only available in Milan, but plans for online sales are in the works, so stay tuned.

Meanwhile, the Harry Potter and Hedwig chairs continue to work their magic on the markets.
