Bronx Barge Is A Portable Pool Party

While this weekend's heat wave may be subsiding, we all know that Mother Nature has countless more steamy days in store for us this summer, which is why it's always crucial to locate the nearest public swimming pool. If you live in or near the Bronx, it's your lucky day: the Neptune Foundation's "Floating Pool Lady", who spends her winters in Bayonne, New Jersey, will be whiling away the summer days docked at Barreto Point Park in the Bronx. The barge's amenities include a snack bar, locker rooms, and a spray pool (last year's Brooklyn location even featured a man-made beach)--so let's hope the cool(er) weather will hold out until the pool opens to the public on June 27!
