The Hampton Ballet Theatre School in collaboration with the Hampton Chamber Orchestra and a celebrity narrator will perform the enchanting ballet Peter and the Wolf on Wednesday, August 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Children’s Museum of the East End and a new venue for HBTS, The Montauk Playhouse on Friday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. located at 240 Edgemere St. in Montauk which will be narrated by Julianne Moore. The ballet, choreographed by the director of HBTS, Sara Jo Strickland, with beautiful, handcrafted costumes by Yuka Silvera, will virtually come alive for the children of the East End community with the live orchestra, ballet and narration. The ballet will be danced by the students of the Hampton Ballet Theatre School, who range from 4 to 18 years old. The 25-piece Hampton Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Andrew Perea, is a group of talented professional musicians who all hail from the East End. This ballet is a treat for all ages, as Sergei Prokovfiev’s famous score introduces all the ballet characters as sounds from musical instruments. You won’t want to miss this exciting, educational performance!
