Avi Oster is sponsoring WordTheatre’s ’Speaking in Tongues,’ an evening of world-class performances in support of the Pushcart Prize Fellowships, endowments for The Pushcart Prize. ’Speaking in Tongues’ brings together the stars of Avatar, Boardwalk Empire, Law & Order and more with Pulitzer Prize winners, Guggenheim Fellows and PEN/Faulkner recipients. Past WordTheatre performers include Carla Gugino, Dana Delany, Edi Gathegi, Marcia Gay Harden, Brian Cox, John Heard, Jackson Rathbone, Andrew McCarthy, Chris McDonald, Samantha Mathis, David Strathairn, Linus Roache, Amber Tamblyn, Phillip Baker Hall, Peter Boyle, Brian Cox, Bob Balaban, Lynn Whitfield and more. Together they celebrate The Pushcart Prize, an annual anthology of stories, poems, essays and memoirs selected from hundreds of small magazines and press throughout the world. WordTheatre is dedicated to inspiring a love of language and literature by presenting live performances of contemporary short stories by renowned actors and authors.
