This week, the NYT confirmed one of Hamptons residents’ suspected fears: their exclusive coast is overcrowded. According to the piece, hoards of sand-seekers are trekking to the Hamptons and settling in at private summer spots like Amagansett's Indian Wells Beach (pictured above). We even got a shout-out! You don't need to be airborne to appreciate the beauty of the Hamptons, although it certainly doesn't hurt. Since I'm going to assume most of us don't have access to a door-less helicopter, thankfully photographer Gray Malin does, and we can let him capture the scene for us. Gray has previously documented the coasts of Europe, Australia and South America, and he finally headed out to the Hamptons this summer to find some pretty sweet beach scenes. More»
You know the old predicament where it's gorgeous beach weather, but you just want to post up at a bar and drink? There's a little secret hidden in Amagansett that solves this age old issue. Drive on Route 27 through Amagansett town and turn right on Indian Wells Highway, park your car when the street ends and hand a right on the beach. Oh, whatever you do, don't forget to bring a 30-rack of beer. You're going to need it. More»
Every year on February 1st, 2,900 East Hampton beach passes are made available for non-residents, at $325 each. While the sale of beach passes has been slow over the past few years due to the recession, the passes sold out quicker than they ever have before, reports CNBC. More»

A paddle out was held in Montauk Friday evening in memory of New Yorker and skateboarding legend Andy Kessler who died unexpectedly last Monday during his trip to the East End. Kessler spent his life pioneering the sport and went on to design skate parks in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Montauk where he picked up his love for the surf. Hundreds gathered on the beach to pay tribute to the skate board pioneer with friends, locals, the ocean, and their surf boards...
Browsing through my friends' Fourth of July pictures, I stumbled upon a swimsuit I just had to get my hands on. The red, white and blue sailboats make it both patriotic and nautical at the same time, and perfect for the summer holiday or anytime you want to hop on a boat- or just want to look like you might. Lucky for me, even if my friend is in California, that's not the only place the Shoshanna suit is; You can order it online from Bloomingdale's (and it's on sale!). Ah, the wonders of the internet!

[GofG Hampton's cloudy backyard]
The summer has officially started and we don't want to see any more days like this. The GofG Hamptons crew is still waiting for some sunshine with temperatures in the high digits since it IS June and there is a beach in our backyard in desperate need of some visitors including the likes of Kendra, Carson, Theresa, and Kristin. Where are you sunshine?
So asked Foursquare founder, Dennis Crowley, this weekend. The Hampton-going tech geek apparently spotted "Thousands" of these things on the beach. Curious too? Find out what's all over the beaches out east below...
