Returning today to the Hamptons for the 36th year is The Hampton Classic Horse Show, one of the most anticipated and prestigious events of the season. This high profile event has become an absolute must not only for the crazy, horse obsessed equestrians like myself, but also for celebrities and socialites. Still drawing in some of the world’s top riders and horses in the heart of Bridgehampton, the Hampton Classic has become on of the biggest social events on everyone’s calendar over Labor Day weekend. [Photo via] Though Saturday polo was canceled this past weekend (thanks, Irene!), there is no reason why we can’t still spend some time contemplating about who the hottest polo player this summer. The sport is dominated by attractive foreign men - and after this past weekend, I think we could all enjoy a little bit of eye candy. Either on the field or sitting on a bale of hay drinking “mate” (traditional Argentine tea like caffeine boost), these handsome athletes are hard to miss.

You may have never heard of Kris Kampsen before, but you definitely cannot miss him on a polo field. The 6’5” polo player with long red hair from Tampa, Florida is back in the Hamptons after a six-year hiatus (playing in Santa Barbara) and he making himself very apparent. On Saturday at the 5th weekend of Bridgehampton polo, Kampsen led his team Equuleus to a 7-5 victory over KIG and earned himself MVP honors by scoring 6 of the 7 goals for his team. More»

Weekend number five wrapped up at Bridgehampton Polo Club and it was not a disappointment. Although the weather had a forecast of cloudy, the sun held out and it was another beautiful Saturday afternoon. Guests hung out and soaked up the rays while faced paced match, where KIG squared off against Equuleus. Maybe it was the weather that drew in the crowd, or the chance of scoring a picture with model Nacho Figueras, but whatever it was there was no shortage of fans. More»

The 4th week of Bridgehampton Polo concluded this year’s Monty Waterbury Cup. Peter Brant’s White Birch team and Steve Lefcowitz’s Heathcote team met on the Circa Championship Field as both teams qualified into the tournament’s final round after having had three hard weeks of competing for the MWC trophy. The halfway point for this summer’s Bridgehampton polo season was marked this past Saturday August 6th. Though this may already be the third week of the season, the action isn’t slowing down out on the Circa Field or in the Blue Star Jets VIP tent. Celebrities and socialites, such as Beth Ostrosky Stern, Star Jones, Jason Binn, Samantha Yanks, Veronica Webb, Debra Halpert, Kelly Klein, Shamin Abas, and Neil Hirsch, enjoyed the action as well as a exclusive wine tasting by The Wine Cellarage, including wines such as 2008 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc and the 2008 Domain Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Rouches. Some even were able to sneak some caviar!

This past Saturday, the 15th Anniversary of Bridgehampton Polo was celebrated as the first ball of the season was tossed, by Betsy Johnson herself, on the Circa Championship Field, which started the first competition of The Monty Waterbury Cup. The high goal tournament hosted 500-invited guest under Blue Star Jets VIP tent. Guests such as Kelly Klein, Doug Lloyd, Veronica Webb, Chris Del Gatto, Caroline Ingram, Cindy Barshop, Samantha Yanks, Vanessa and Todd Rome, Russell Simmons, designer Betsey Johnson and her daughter Lulu, were all present as Peter Brant’s White Birch team took on Simon Garber’s Yellow Cab team. Our days of stomping divots, drooling over Nacho Figueras, VIP tents, celebrity sightings, and absurd on-field feuds have officially come to an end. Niche Media along with Microsoft Bing hosted Closing Day of the Mercedes Benz Polo Challenge on the Blue Star Jet Field as Hamptonites including Russell Simmons, Serena Altschul, Bethenny Frankel, Barron Hilton, Haley and Jason Binn, and many more cheered on the players, sipped cocktails beneath the tents, and celebrated the end of the season.

Not only does this Saturday mark the end of sipping cocktails underneath the tents on the Blue Star Jets field but also a sad, sad day for every girl across the East End as Nacho's last match during the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge is approaching. This means our days of "ooh-ing" and "ah-ing" over the polo playing stud will soon be behind us.
