[Photo via] Inside turmoil seems to be causing more damage to the Plum Network than we saw Irene's wrath do to their Bridgehampton studio. Last Thursday, some unresolved financial requests prompted their CEO Jerry Powers, who had been with Plum since November, to resign. During a big conference call the ex-CEO asked the board of directors for about $300,000 to pay outstanding bills of "payroll, sales commission and free-lance writer" costs, according to Gatecrasher. And just when I thought this was going to be another unmemorable Thursday afternoon:
"Ladies and gentleman, little Nicky has ARRIVED. Our intrepid reporter Nick Leighton was featured in the New York Times Style Section! Photographed with his trusty Plum mic in hand as he worked the Assouline book party for supermodel Veruschka, he was captured rooftop against the New York City skyline sporting a new crew cut and schoolboy cardigan. His stoic expression reveals that he was either contemplating which hard hitting questions he was going to ask Veruschka, or whether it was to be a gin or vodka night." [Plum TV]

Plum TV's Nick Leighton tries to sneak his way into the Calvin Klein party by insisting that the cool, laid back Liam McMullan include him in his entourage. Not this year Nick, though it's clear that you kept at least more of your dignity than the woman who showed you her gift bag, and everything else at the end of the evening. Nick Leighton dissects the Resurrection Party's Gift Bag at Christie's for Plum TV. Um, Nick...did you miss the memo or something? This isn't the Hamptons anymore, this is the BIG CITY and people don't go to parties just for the gift bags....they are actually there to see the clothes. We'll forgive you this once, as you are a newbie on the scene, but, take it from a pro, you don't see Kelly Cutrone video blogging about her gift bag do you!? Trés Tacky.

With Kelly Killoren Bensimon and Jennifer Creel to help, they are sure to continue their socialite coverage for us into the fall, beginnning with a debate on which presidential candidate's wife has the better style (video above).
Go here to check out all of their plans for fashion week!
