The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) is one of the many anticipated events during the year outeast. Since the festival does not take place until October, SummerDocs swoops in and feeds our craving until Fall. SummerDocs is one of the run-up events leading up to the Hamptons Film Festival, and it has been announced that everybody's favorite Hampton man-about-town Alec Baldwin will be serving as a host for some of the screenings.

The first of four documentary films to kick off the event will be 'BUCK', this year's Sundance Film Festival Audience Award winner at Guild Hall in East Hampton on Saturday, June 4th at 8pm. Inside The Actors Studio's James Lipton is on board to host the evenings event, but Alec Baldwin will return for the remaining screenings.

Kicking off Baldwin's return he will host Andrew Rossi's 'PAGE ONE' on July 22nd with an extended question and answer session for the film along with the director and other special guests. Baldwin (a Hamptons International Film Festival board member himself) has expressed his excitement for the upcoming SummerDocs saying,

“I am looking forward to continuing the series with interesting films that lead us to great conversations. SummerDocs is quickly becoming one of the best series out east in the summer and I’m excited to be presenting another new group of films in 2011.” [via]

David Nugent, Director of Programming for the Hamptons International Film Festival, added

“Documentaries are always among some of the most interesting films of the year, and we are pleased to continue such a special program. BUCK and PAGE ONE represent the finest non-fiction films of the year. They’re both great films, and I think are a perfect fit for our audience.” [via]
