The 2009 Hampton Classic came to close Sunday afternoon and winner, McLain Ward, took home the $250,000 winning prize while making history as the FEI World Cup Qualifier for a record fourth time on his two-time Olympic gold medal horse, Sapphire, who we should mention is a 14 year-old mare. Apparently the old lady still has what it takes to keep up with the competition as Sunday marked the seventh win for Sapphire in 2009 alone. More photos below...
