A new rendition of Peter Shaffer's 1973 psychological drama Equus (including several new revisions made by the playwright) opened last Saturday at Guild Hall in East Hampton; an after-party at the Maidstone followed the performance.

Jack Donaghy Alec Baldwin plays the shrink in the production, while 22 year-old Sam Underwood (top right photo) occupies the starring role most recently held by Harry Potter Daniel Radcliff on Broadway. Also appearing in the play is 21 year-old Georgia Warner (yellow dress), whose grandfather, Warren LeRoy, owns Central Park's Tavern on the Green.

Equus is well known (at least among the non theater-going crowd) for fully showcasing the actor's...talent...in the role of Alan Strang, the young boy who becomes obsessed with blinding horses.  We can't wait to see what Underwood brings to the stage.

Shaffer himself attended the performance, as did Baldwin's 30 Rock costar, Dot Com Kevin Brown.
