Honoring Dick Cavett for the preservation of his Montauk moorlands, The Nature Conservancy threw a gala in Bridgehampton this past Saturday. Entitled "Beaches & Bays", the event was held at Mecox Bay, appropriately overlooking the water. The pricey party (normal tickets were going for $600) started with cocktails and hors d'oeurvres and was followed by dinner and dancing enclosed in white tents. Luckily for guests, the weather matched the perfect views. The event may have been on the costly side, but it was well worth it: Proceeds go to preserving the East End's water bodies, an important institution to all Hamptonites.
