Opening Day at Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge 2010 at Blue Star Fields was home to a ton of celebs spending the weekend East for the first polo match of the summer. It's officially time for plaids, pastels, and fabulous hats!
Matched up for the game were teams Great Oaks and La Alegria, but ask most of the attendees and you'll soon realize that the match is only one small reason to head to Bridgehampton for the next 5 Saturdays. This year's SWAGG tent was filled with all of the VIP guests and featured its own DJ and bar while the match wore on (fairly unwatched). Reality television swarmed this Saturday with stars Bethenny Frankel, Ramona Singer, Countess Luann de Lesseps, Jill Zarin and husband, Bobby Zarin, and Kelly Bensimon of The Real Housewives of New York, all in attendance. Caroline Manzo and daughter, Lauren Manzo, of The Real Housewives of New Jersey were also present, as well as Kourtney Kardashian and husband, Scott Disick of Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami.

Of course reailty stars weren't the only ones who made it out to the event. This IS indeed the sport of kings not the Bravo Summer Pool Party (even though we do love that fab commercial). Among the athletes were Miami Heat star, and co-star of this summer's "Lebacle," Chris Bosh, the delicious Polo trifecta (player, model, spokesperson) Nacho Figueras, and the equally lovely and highest-rated Polo player in the U.S. Nic Roldan. Even some fictional athletes made their way to the fields, in particular, Malik Yoba, star of the incredibly hilarious bobsledding movie Cool Runnings.

And of course, it wouldn't be a day on the Polo field without the occassional spotting of a few CEO's. This weekend Cheryl Mercuris, Chairman and CEO of Quality Resources, was at the match in Bridgehampton. Mercuris is infamous for dropping an astounding $500,000 on a 2-week rental at our most extravagant Hamptons House of the Day, the Sandcastle. The bachelorette has definitely come to the right place to spot some Hamptons male eye-candy as Bridgehampton is chock-full o' preppy hunks for the next 5 Saturdays.
From Team GofG, we will see you next Saturday for what is sure to be another celeb packed day of Polo!
