When the EHPD and the NY State Liquor Authorities made a surprise visit to Lily Pond this past Saturday, they were less than impressed by the swarms of social-lites, VIP limo service, and fiery magnums of Dom. During their several hour inspection, the officers issued many a parking ticket, confiscated countless cigarettes, and refused to lick P.Hil's red patent-leather pumps. Apparently the authorities were somewhat less concerned with underage drinking, as Paris' wee brother Baron partied on unscathed.

Looks like Lily Pond's getting their bottle service sparklers banned might have happened anyway. In 2008 there was a huge jump in bottle sparkler sales. Clubs and bars jumped on the bottle service bandwagon big time. Unfortunately, this means that there will probably be shortages of champagne bottle sparklers this holiday season. Christmas and New Year's eve are busy times. But I expect that both www.Skylighter.com and www.CelebrationSparklers.com will both run out of bottle sparklers before the end of December. Demand for these great bottle service attention-getters has been so high this year that importers haven't been able to keep up. One importer I know still hasn't received the container of bottle sparklers he ordered last summer. Chinese shipping problems before and during the Olympics and new Consumer Product Safety Commission reg's, which went into effect in November will be conspiring to keep more bottle sparklers out of the US until early 2009. I'm hopeful that both Skylighter.com and CelebrationSparklers.com will be able to get more cake sparklers or bottle sparklers (both will work) by the end of January. Stay tuned.
