Ditch Plains Surfer Promises To Bring The Heat In Court

by Maggie McGlinchy · July 29, 2011

Not only is Jasper Conroy the first ever surfer to get ticketed at Ditch Plains, he is also a resident of Ditch Plains and he has also been surfing at Ditch for almost 15 years. So when Conroy was ticketed on July 9th, he promised that he will fight the ticket in court.

“I’m going to plead not guilty. I’m not guilty. Surfers who don’t know what they’re doing shouldn’t have been around those swimmers. But I know what I’m doing,” said Conroy.

Normally I would want to play into this and say that this is a classic misunderstanding between surfer and stuffy lifeguard, but Mr. McGeehan is not only a lifeguard but a surfer and an attorney. Yikes. Well, this court appearance should make for some good ol' town chatter!
