Collette Brings Us (Relative) Bargains

An unexpected perk of rubbing elbows with the .01% is purchasing their once or never worns at tiny fractions of their original value. Based on prior experience, when Rachelle and I spotted The Bargain Basement by Colette on Southampton's Main Street we were unsure as to what we'd find. Fear of spangled crop-tops and musty mock-turtle necks were soon absolved; the store is chock full of high end apparel, shoes, and accessories. Think Chanel resort suits, Lauren Moffat blouses, and a dizzying array of Manolos and Louis. While I ogled a light brown Hermes Kelly, owner Tisha Colette, informed us that her other outposts (East Hampton, Jobs Lane in Southampton, Sag Harbor, which is "funky," and two home furnishing stores in Bridgehampton and Southampton) are more upscale. This, we could scarcely imagine, until we checked out her Jobs Lane outpost, where Christian Lacroix and Matthew Williamson frocks nestled up to crocodile bustiers. Once we nab our book deal, we'll be the best dressed guests on the island...

they advertise fake bags as real and then when confronted about it deny ever having sold the piece.. really nasty people.
