Lifestyle Guru Dria Murphy Spills On Her New Hamptons-Inspired Lingerie Collection With Taryn Winters

by Stephanie Maida · July 1, 2022

When it comes to finding the best beauty, wellness, home, and fashion labels on the scene, those in the know have turned to Dria Murphy for years. The marketing pro behind creative brand building agency Alise Collective has been a go-to for influencers, editors, and companies looking to connect with vetted brands-on-the-rise and to stay up to date with trends on the landscape.

Put simply, Dria always knows about the coolest stuff before everyone else.

Now, she's expanding her role as a certified lifestyle guru with the launch of by dria, a curated, shoppable site of her favorite products. And, considering the fact that she can be counted on for her great taste (in, well, everything), it was only a matter of time before she collaborated on her very own collection.

To coincide with the debut of by dria, the stylish New Yorker (and annual Hamptonite) has unveiled her first capsule collection with Taryn Winters, the lingerie brand beloved by the chic set. The dreamy pieces are inspired by self-love, femininity, and, fittingly enough for summer, the breezy and relaxing vibe of days spent out East. In addition to shopping the seven-piece collection online, you can pick it up at Joey Wolffer's shop in Sag Harbor all season long.

Ahead of the by dria x Taryn Winters pop-up shopping party on July 7th, we caught up with Dria herself to chat her new venture, gorgeous new collection, and where we'll be finding her in the Hamptons this summer!

What inspired the idea of by dria?
Through my experience working with many brands and products within the wellness, beauty, and fashion spaces, I discovered that more does not equal better; so to cut through the noise, I was inspired to create this shoppable outlet to share everything I have tested, learned and love through my unique point of view. If I wouldn't wear it, try it, visit it, taste it, sip it or swear by it - it doesn't make the by dria cut. I also curate a round up of chic, new and noteworthy products you should buy called the au courant edit that drops every month.

How has working in the creative marketing and brand building field given you a unique perspective on must-know products?
I founded my company, Alise Collective, on the premise that I would only work with brands that I truly stand behind and have products that I use daily, which has allowed me to vet based on my own standards throughout my professional career. This process alone has given me the ability to meet new founders and CEOs to talk about their brand, their competitors, and current and upcoming trends within the industry itself, so I’ve gotten to try new products before they even launch. Similarly, I often chat with editors in the industry about what they’re currently trying and loving.

What stands out to you when it comes to a beauty or wellness pick that you trust?
The most important factors to me are the ingredients, the packaging, and who’s behind it. In terms of ingredients, I like them to be clean, but they also need to be effective. Secondly, sustainable packaging is super important but it has to reflect an elevated feel. Lastly, I am very invested in the personal story and expertise behind the leaders of a brand so that I can draw a connection to the mission and understand the proof of concept.

How did your capsule collection with Taryn Winters come about?
When I first met Taryn Winters, New York-based lingerie designer, I didn’t have much lingerie. I wasn’t in a relationship and always correlated lingerie with wearing it for someone else. I then learned this woman specifically designs with soft sheer meshes and lace that are meant to flatter a woman’s natural shape. Everything is handmade in New York and is inspired by a love of movement and the feminine form. Since then, not only have we become dear friends, but we have also worked together on various projects. Doing product capsule collections has always been in my vision as a component of by dria, so it naturally came together to collaborate.

Were there any inspirations behind the designs?
Inspired by the realization that lingerie is made to be worn for yourself, first, Taryn Winters and I decided to collaborate on a capsule collection that celebrates feeling comfortable in and empowered by one’s femininity – a feeling we believe every woman deserves. Made to be worn day and night, this Taryn Winters x by dria 7-piece collection brings you my favorite TW fits in a color combo inspired by my Hamptons summers that also reflect my essence.

We can shop the collection at the Joey Wolffer store in Sag Harbor - where else can we find you out and about in the Hamptons?
So not only will the collection be sold at the Joey Wolffer store all summer long, but we will also be hosting a pop up on July 7th there where people will be able to chat and try on the pieces while sipping my favorite Wolffer rosé!

The rest of the summer I will be working out at Hero Beach Club’s wellness classes with Dogpound, Brooks Pilates, and MadMethod, and staying healthy with I.V. drips & covid tests from Sollis Health in Water Mill. I love to dine at Duryea’s and Crow's Nest, while also stocking up on fresh veggies and fruit from Amber Waves Farm. Surfing in my Cynthia Rowley wetsuit more often than not is one of my goals this summer, but I will definitely be spending some quiet time at my house in Montauk curating my summer drops of au courant by dria. I’m also so excited for Symbiome facials at Onda Beauty in Sag Harbor.
