Although the Golden Gods are billed as an awards show, the general consensus among metalheads (yes, kids, there are still such things as metalheads) is that the awards themselves (for example, the "Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award", which went to Rush) matter less than the live performances and the living legends (like Anthrax, above) in attendance. In other words, we probably shouldn't put too much stock in the judgement of an awards committee that called "The Path Of Totality" the album of the year.
