Check out some of L.A.'s hottest upcoming bands and established artists on Friday nights. On July 23, the program heats up as it transitions to 98.7FM's "RockStar Battle of The Bands" competition, inviting bands to audition for a chance to perform in the legendary Sunset Strip Music Festival. A panel of top music executives and representatives from popular Sunset Strip venues will be on hand to judge the weekly contest. Selected bands will compete in the finals, which will take place on August 28 at the Sunset Strip Music Festival. The winning band will also receive $10,000 in cash, a spot on the 2011 Warped tour and a private party for 50 friends at the new 98.7 FM Penthouse in Hollywood.
